Video of Anita De Bauch modelling Anathema Designs at a photo shoot

I had a lovely shoot at home today- a four hour 1930s glamour shoot that worked perfectly in my 1930s lounge. Hopefully I'll be able to share the photos here soon :)

In the meantime, let's have a video for #NakedSundays for a change! This is a BTS video from a fashion shoot for Anathema Designs, a beautiful high-end bespoke London jeweller and my latest sponsor. Expect to see more of her work appearing in my photos soon! What a pleasure it was to do this shoot; I'm so happy she made this video of it and let me share it :)

I have a consultation with my other new sponsor tomorrow, Bare Skin Beauty, a raw organic natural skincare company that I'm super excited about (I just recently wrote a whole blog about the lip balm!) because I'm well into natural skincare and their products have already improved my skin dramatically. Tomorrow I'll be chatting with Juliette about my diet and lifestyle and having her analyse my skin to suggest further improvements I can make. It should be really interesting!

I ate quite a bit of fatty food (fried mushrooms and tomatoes for lunch, Chelsea buns as shoot snacks!) today as I noticed at yesterday's shoot I was starting to look, imo, too skinny; I know I get cross when people complain about being able to see my ribcage, but really, it was ridiculous, my stomach was just too small and my arms looked like matchsticks when I wasn't flexing them (I have pretty good biceps!)... I think the main issue is that I looked how I felt, viz skinny, pasty and sweaty. I had to keep piling on the blusher as there wasn't a trace of blood in my face and drinking gallons of water. I haven't been eating any less than usual so I think it must a combination of having a sudden detoxing step forward (I was also getting headaches today), overwork, and re-introducing daily workouts after I just didn't have time for about a month. It's nothing to worry about, in fact I even noticed in the shots today that my booty was looking nice and round again ;) I probably just lost every last ounce of water retention all in one go.

Detox tea and bed! I'm out of green smoothie ingredients so porridge with rice milk for breakfast tomorrow, I guess!

Fabulously Fetish website launch!

High-end bespoke fetish shoe design team Fabulously Fetish re-launched their website at midnight last night, fabulouslyfetish.co.uk, with lots of photos from a specially commissioned shoot we did with Phine Ka, a wonderful fashion photographer I've shot with many times now :)

You probably already saw the teasers on Fabulously Fetish's Facebook/ Twitter/ Tumblr (click them to see larger versions):

hair and makeup by yours truly!

Here are some of my favourite photos they're currently using on the website, in my very own gallery!

Patent leather bullet bra with spiral stitching

To see the rest of the images (yep, there's more!) click here to browse the gallery!

I love Fabulously Fetish because everything they do is done with such expert care and attention to detail. Their shoes are all made from the best materials, gorgeous buttery patent leather being my personal favourite, in a rainbow of colours, and all made with careful thought as to how the shoe is actually going to work when being worn, how to get the possible arch and silhouette, etc.

They have carefully measured my legs and feet in person so they have a kind of mold of them they can make perfectly fitting shoes from! Atm they are working on a pair of apricot patent leather lace-up platform boots for me, in a colour to exactly match my hair! I can't wait to see them and show them off!

And yes I do know how lucky I am to be sponsored by Fabulously Fetish shoes- surely every girl's dream

Beyond Burlesque bridalwear by Dave Kai-Piper

Fun day today! I've been feeling a bit tired/ unmotivated for a little while now but an amazingly inspiring email from Ivory Flame has cheered me right up :) I'm pottering around my flat in London doing my own thing for a couple of days while Liam is visiting family in Somerset and feeling my energy levels slowly going back up.

I've been up at 7am or so the last couple of mornings getting back into Pilates, which always seems to get me back in shape within a week, as long as I stick at it! It's satisfying when you can feel yourself getting stronger :) Then I had my darling green smoothie and went to meet Simon Pinto to get my hair cut professionally for the first time in at least a year! After a couple of bad experiences with hairdressers doing unpredictable things to my hair I went back to just chopping the ends of myself in the bathroom when they felt like they needed it, haha. But then I got the itch to have a real, proper style again, rather than just an uninspiring longish mop.

The venue for the haircut was really cool- a barber's in Carnaby Street called Pankhurst, which seriously looks like somewhere James Bond would go to get his hair cut! if I was a bachelor, my whole flat would be decorated like their barbershop! I'm thinking of booking an appointment for a cut and shave for Liam for Christmas or something, with the proper cutthroat razor and hot towels and stuff. Totally what I would do if I was a dude!!

Simon and I came up with a haircut between us that I can make simple adjustments to to look either a) natural/ girl next door-like, b) vintage or c) punky, which is going to make my life so much easier and hairstyling so much quicker at shoots :D

After my appointment I inhaled a superfood salad from Pret as thanks to all my fussing and Simon's professional perfectionism, despite meeting at 11am we didn't finish cutting until 2pm, lol. I'm always starving for lunch by 1pm. Then I got the tube to Camden to buy hair dye from the market and other little treats for myself: three bunches of flowers and six bars of dark chocolate, totalling £7.77 from Lidl :p The house feels happier now that there are flowers and chocolates everywhere!

I'm also brightening up my colour a little, at least temporarily, to a kind of strawberry blonde/ apricot colour. My hair's actually blonde as I type this as I had to pre-lighten it! At least now I know that I can be blonde within 24 hours if anyone needs me to be for work! I just need to keep a box of the bleach in stock.

I'm doing a cool little conceptual shoot at home with Dan Hubbert tomorrow to capture the blonde-ness, then having a hair dye break, blow drying it and shooting some more with the new apricot colour! You'll have to wait til then to see me blonde as I don't seem to be able to get a good picture of it on my phone!

Here's a photo with my old hair, taken last month at a shoot for Beyond Burlesque bridalwear. The photographer was Dave Kai-Piper, who I'd met before but not actually shot with, so it was good to finally work together :)

I think this is my favourite shot of the day. It feels more editorial and like a modernised version of a pre-Raphaelite lady reclining in some sort of enchanted woodland (actually, a garden in Crouch End :p). If I remember correctly, Belinda said that this dress was inspired by/ a homage to Dita's wedding dress, which was made by Vivienne Westwood, the company Belinda designs for when she's not doing her own thing with Beyond Burlesque :)

But I also like this catalogue shot... I felt like such a Disney princess in this dress, it was amazing!

I must go and make my detox tea and go to bed now as it's 10.30 pm!! Gotta be fresh for 7am Pilates ;)

Don Cristobal

I thought I would share a couple of pictures from a shoot I did in Singapore last month for Filipino couturier Don Cristobal, who's making a big name for himself in SE Asia at the moment. We shot several looks with SoloStep Studio; these are the two I've spotted so far :)

Each dress was full of drama and made me feel like a certain character. This one is very 70s and boho, especially with Elena's styling.

The next was my personal favourite, I think; I was reading Lola Montez: Her life and conquests while travelling around Asia, and really felt her in this Spanish-influenced dress with its sexy mesh panels and layers and layers of underskirts!

Hair and makep: Rezani Ramli

It sounds so cheesy because all models say it, but one of my favourite things about my job is shoots like this where I basically get paid to play dress-up like I was a little kid and play with all these different characters, which are really just aspects of my own psyche that normally wouldn't get airtime.

Just finished my Introduction to International Criminal Law online course today! A meaningless 'Statement of Accomplishment with Distinction' certificate will soon be mine. Booyah.

In more annoying news, Facebook have banned me from advertising my page on their site because they consider it to be "advertising adult products or services, including toys, videos, or sexual enhancement products." Well, what if it were? The page is set to 18+ anyway! Infuriating. So please, if you haven't already, come and join me on my Facebook porno page and become instantly sexually enhanced. That's a guarantee.

Christmas Cards and Calendars!

I just learned that two people found my blog this week by searching for "giant didgeridoo". I hope they found what they were looking for. I'm pretty certain I've never once mentioned didgeridoos, giant or otherwise, in my blog, so how did they end up here? Anyway, giant didgeridoo, giant didgeridoo, giant didgeridoo. That should fuck up Google.

The point of me writing to you this time is actually to let you know that I have two exciting new products in my Shop- chic couture Christmas cards AND a cute LATEX 2013 poster calendar! You could buy them both to make great gifts for your friends and lovers- just £7 per person to give them a thoughtful, unique gift with a little wink that will keep them thinking of you (and me) all year!

The Christmas Card (£5 for 5 cards):

Photographer: David Angel

Isn't it tasteful and gorgeous compared to all the red and green glittery cartoon Santas and candycanes you see on the high street every single year?? The only "glitter" is the sunlight sparkling through the snowy trees! There is nothing like really stylish, elegant stationery to make a good impression, and these cards work out at only £1 per friend! They also don't have any dates on them, so you could perfectly well stock up for next year!

The 2013 Calendar (£10 £6):

Photographer: Julian M Kilsby

These calendars are also a real bargain! They are the exact same size and quality as my pin-ups, but instead of being £10 each, for a limited time, they will be £6 only! Get them while you can! I'm sure one of my 2013 calendars will really brighten up your home and/ or office as well as coming in useful for remembering important dates over the coming year!

Browse my shop and order now while stocks last!

Love and kisses,

Anita xoxo

Beyond Burlesque & Roadkill Couture Photo Shoot Teaser!

I did a beautiful couture fashion shoot for designer to the stars Beyond Burlesque in an enchanted snowy wood last month <3 The designer, Belinda, used to design for Vivienne Westwood until she created her own label :) The clothing and location were just magical, as were the ethical fur, feather and bone accessories by Roadkill Couture! It was a wonderful shoot with wonderful people who really knew their craft.

I will be posting the photos properly soon, but for now I'm here to tease, tease, tease with a snap I took of one of the prints!
Photographer: David Angel | Hair and makeup: me!

Btw, does each blog I post come up with a location of where I am? I've been adding a location every time I post for months but if no-one can see it, it's a bit pointless!

Anyway, my location tonight will be the Torture Garden March Ball, where I will be walking in a big latex fashion show for One Eyed Designs at 1 am! Come along and enjoy the shininess and De Bauchery with us! xoxo

Happy Valentine's Day, De Bauchees!

Wishing my friends and fans a very happy Valentine's Day a little early as I plan on being absent from the computer for a couple of days now while I hole up with Liam, sexy lingerie and champagne at The Savoy ;)

If you're single this year, send yourself a Valentine- you deserve it! Nothing says self-sufficiency like buying your choice of flowers, sweets and perfume ;) Or, indeed, a pair of my stockings, if you're a foot fetishist!

I'm just about to step out of my front door with my man and my weekend bag but I'll leave you with photos of a BRAND NEW design from Kaori's Latex Dreams! There are more photos in the online catalogue :)

Love the 3D rubber lips!

Photographer: Julian Kilsby | Hair: Leigh-Anne Regan | MUA: me!

Lots of kisses! xxx

Peacock

I've recently developed a minor obsession with peacocks, starting when I put a vase of peacock feathers on top of my 1930s radio in the living room and was suddenly overcome with the irresistible desire to redecorate the whole room in a blue deco peacock palette topped off with a real taxidermy peacock to perch on the wall!

So, you can imagine how much I enjoyed shooting this Peacock Body Suit for Kaori's Latex Dreams last month! The cut-out design is so cheeky yet so flattering! You can see more photos in the Kaori's Latex Dreams online catalogue if you like :)

Photographer: Julian Kilsby | Hair: Leigh-Anne Regan | MUA: me!

I also finally finally found a vintage 1930s folding peacock fire screen on eBay, which I've been wanting for a while! It was a real bargain because it needed a good clean. A whole bottle of Brasso, several episodes of Sex and the City and a lot of elbow grease later, it was restored to its former glory in its new home :)

This guy in the centre looks like Pazuzu from The Exorcist to me!! It's even better to snuggle up in front of now that the snow's back :)

Yesterday I was shooting for A List celebrity couturier, Beyond Burlesque, and ethical fur/ feather/ bone accessory designer, Roadkill Couture, in a secret garden location in Hampstead in the snow :)

In the evening I helped to host a party at the Olympic Cinema, which is in the process of being refurbished and reopened thanks to the generosity of a group of members and used to be Olympic Studios!

I got a real thrill out of changing into my corset in Pete Tong's old recording studio and swanning around the rooms where some of my favourite records by everyone from the Beatles to The Cure to David Bowie to Depeche Mode to Jimi Hendrix to Madonna to Nick Cave to the Rolling Stones to Queen to Shirley Bassey to the Spice Girls to Stiff Little Fingers to The Verve to The Who were made! Yes, I was in rockstar  heaven!

The magic of the evening was rounded off nicely when I emerged from the building at 10.30 pm to find that it was snowing and the trees were laced with fairy lights <3

Today I had two very fun shoots with two different photographer friends and tomorrow I will be stalking the runway for the Playful Promises free Burlesque and Beating Hearts lingerie event in London with my good friend Roswell Ivory. Feel free to come along and see all the pretty pin-ups from 1 pm! :)

Kaori's Latex Dreams shoot, vintage coat shopping and childhood photo!

I woke up this morning thinking I was snuggling Liam's stubbly chin only to find I was actually snuggling Dexter's kiwi fruit-like behind. Even with the heating turned up, the apartment is rather chilly at night for our hairless kitties' tastes, so they have taken to camping out with us in "the big basket", the little darlings!

Anyway, hideous mental images aside, I just got back some photos from my shoot in Birmingham for Kaori's Latex Dreams that I like so much! *bounces* There are a couple more in the Kaori's Latex Dreams online catalogue :)

Apologies if you already saw the second one on Facebook last night!
Photographer: Julian Kilsby | Hair: Leigh-Anne Regan | Makeup: me

It's always a pleasure to work with Julian, and Leigh-Anne just blew me away with her hairstyling. It is amazing what a professional can do with a simple short bob! I really hope I get to work with her on more crazy fashion projects! It was great fun being let loose to do really dramatic makeup, too ^_^

I just took advantage of MAC's free delivery on orders under £30 to have some new bits and pieces delivered including some new eyeshadows to go with the canary yellow latex I want to buy soon!

Chrome Yellow and Orange eye pans <3

Has everyone seen the Miss Piggy for MAC range? I love the idea but don't think the colours will suit me. I love Miss Piggy's coat, though!

Speaking of coats, I've had some great luck with finding vintage lovelies on eBay recently, including this 1960s leopard print fur coat! Can't wait for it to arrive, not least to make my cats jealous, but also to snuggle into in the cold weather ;) It looks like something Marilyn Monroe would have worn!

I've finally finished my pre-renovation clear-out of my apartment and the very last bits and pieces looking for new homes are now on eBay :)

I leave you with an amusing photo of myself, aged 14, for no particular reason other than that I found it during the aforementioned clear-out ;)

Feel free to point and laugh!

My New Year's Resolutions

What are your new year's resolutions or goals?

Mine are:

  1. I will visit a country I have never been to before. I'm guessing it will be China and/ or Indonesia, but I'm open to suggestion!
  2. I will go to a gypsy jazz club
  3. I will ensure that my book on freelance modelling, The Ugly Girl's Guide to Becoming a Model, is published the way I want it to be published ;)
  4. I will get better at doing my hair
  5. I will visit Tokyo again and learn to say a few more things in Japanese
  6. I will continue to prioritise healthy eating and sleeping
  7. I will gain a basic understanding of economics. All this talk of "double dip recession" and "recession/ depression" etc is making me feel incredibly stupid as I've been hearing it on the news for years now and still don't know what any of it really means or whose fault it really is
  8. I will get back into the swing of my weekly pilates/ aerobics/ yoga routine, after two months' travelling
  9. I will try and cultivate my brain in the form of classic novels, psychology textbooks, art gallery and museum exhibitions, music and poetry recitals, attending lectures, visiting sites of historical interest etc etc once a week
  10. I will read and actually understand the Wikipedia page on photography. Considering how much time I spend in front of a camera, it is scandalous how little I know about the process behind it!
As we look forward to 2012 and turn our backs on 2011, I leave you with pictures of my butt from a shoot for the Lux Tenebrae catalogue that I did with Adam Robertson :)

Happy New Year, everyone! I'm off to celebrate with Liam. We have nearly two months' worth of catching up to do over a champagne dinner and fireworks over the Thames :D

Lux Tenebrae Leather

Remember how I said I was looking forward to a well-dressed Halloween? Well, here are the first photos from my shoot with luxury leather couturier Lux Tenebrae and one of my favourite photographers and friends, Adam Robertson. This butter-soft bespoke skirt not only fitted like a glove, it was actually made from glove leather, apparently because that was a better choice when making a skirt in my size. All I can say is that it feels absolutely delicious to wear and I am a lucky girl to be given such a beautiful piece of couture to take home with me. I never thought I'd say it, but it's actually going to replace my beloved French Connection black leather pencil skirt, which will now probably end up on eBay!

Photographer: Adam Robertson | Wardrobe stylist: Lux Tenebrae | Hair and makeup: me!

We also shot some gorgeous leather harnesses, which were just so photogenic, especially the British Tan coloured ones as they nearly matched my hair colour ^^ It was also my first go at wearing pony boots (the Lady Gaga-esque ones with no heels)! REALLY looking forward to seeing those shots as we not only did some neat, clear catalogue ones like the two shots I just posted, but also some cooler, moodier editorial work which looked fab on the back of the camera ^^

Just got back from two days shooting oop north so will hopefully have some new photos from there as well, shortly, including lots of nice latexy fashion nudes with meh new red hair! Right now I need to get some sleep though as I've been working so hard for the last however long that I feel like the little hamster that runs on the wheel in my brain to keep the cogs turning has wandered off somewhere!

good morning

I just sent the photos from my shoot with my good friend Adam Robertson off to my agencies (still feels weird talking about "my agencies"!) and now I want to share them with you :) I was especially pleased to do this particular shoot with Adam as I know he normally shoots almost only with models from the really top agencies, Storm etc, so it was very flattering that he acceded to my demands ;p

New tee-shirt, a surprise gift from Liam <3

It seems a bit crap to give myself a hair and makeup credit seeing as I really just powdered my nose, put some Vaseline on my lips and ran my fingers through my hair, but I will anyway, because hell, it's my blog ;) Hair and makeup: Anita De Bauch ;)

It's really interesting to flex my "commercial modelling" muscles a bit as I'm usually mostly booked for either alternative/ latex fashion, boudoir or art nude, as that's where most of my experience lies. It's really nice that some agency people saw through my portfolio as it was and thought I could do mainstream/ commercial/ "normal" work, too. I felt surprisingly naked, losing the makeup and heavy styling of alt. fashion and the strange anonymity of art nude by doing this sort of work, at first, but I'm starting to get used to it now and even enjoy doing something that is, for me, a little bit different and a new challenge :D

Weather Vain

I can't quite believe I haven't blogged about this yet...

I did a shoot for Weather Vain with Keital (the photographer who took that wonderful 1940s- themed shot for EctoMorph in my last blog) this May, with a vintage 1953 MG TD and even more excitingly, a vintage plane (1961 Jodel 140) that I got taken for a ride around the skies in afterwards!

The final Weather Vain shot

On the way to the shoot in a (modern!) Audi

Me catching some rays during a break in shooting- in the best possible outfit, given my complexion

View of Maidenhead from the plane

This is what I look like when I'm getting flown around in a teeny little vintage plane :D

Another view from the window- Keith did some rolls just for me!

This was a two-day assignment; on the other day we shot some very cool latex stuff that I think I will save for the members-only area of my website, once it is completed (go bookmark the page now!) ;) Here's a little preview:
