I love these quirky shots Luci Alice took of me wearing Kaori's Latex Dreams and Vivienne Westwood :)

Le weekend

Let me tell you all about my Easter weekend in gay Parree!

I finally made time to go on a long-overdue holiday to one of my favourite cities, Paris. All I can think about when I'm here is La Belle Epoque, the Roaring Twenties, artists and courtesans drinking absinthe in art nouveau bars, the "leg shows" at the Opera House, the New Look, Jean Paul Gaultier...

Photographer: GSC4X | Skincare: Bareskin Beauty | Cosmetics: Mya Minerals

Pink hotel room! :D One thing I love about Paris is that decor- no neutrals, plain carpets or magnolia paint in sight! No-one is afraid to try and make a room special in Paris.

After a well-deserved lie-in at a little Baroque hotel I found online, where the rooms are named after glamour icons from Parisian history like Mistinguett and Coco Chanel, Boyfy and I went for brunch at Mariage Frères, an exotic tea salon from the C19th. We shared "Le Classique", but were so full, we still had to take the sakura blossom dessert away to share at the hotel later!

I love floral scents, so I purchased a box of rose and violette tea called Swan Lake, which will look really pretty brewing in my French press at home when I have the girls round ;)

We managed to sneak into Laperouse when it was closed at midday, for a little unofficial guided tour:

I also visited Notre Dame for the first time, which was as spooky and impressive as I'd imagined from Victor Hugo's book. I wanted to learn more about the history of Paris, so we visited the museum in the crypt.

One of the highlights of the trip so far has been dinner at Maxim's, an art nouveau restaurant and my favourite in Paris. The owner who made Maxim's so wildly popular at the turn of the century did so by ensuring the restaurant was always full of well-dressed women in all manner of lace, diamonds, velvets and ribbons, tactically seated in the windows facing the street. Jean Cocteau wrote that
"To undress one of these women is like an outing that calls for three weeks' advance notice, it's like moving house."
Hilarious!

We ordered absinthe and champagne with our meal, the drinks of choice during La Belle Epoque, and it gave me a happy little buzz to listen to the pianist play and imagine how many grand dames and dandies had enjoyed the same drinks in the very same room since the late C19th...

The Bar at Maxim's

On Sunday, we went for tea and a single Marie Antoinette macaroon to share at Ladurée (I just wanted to taste). I like the Ladurée at Harrod's, but you can't beat the real thing in Paris.

The good weather lasted just long enough for a pretty boat ride along the river, where we got our first really clear view of the Eiffel Tower. Wow! Everywhere you look in Paris, there's beauty all around.

Orchid Corsetry AW15: Seductress in Red

Happy Day of the Dead! Although this set seems more appropriate for Devil's Night...

It also seems to be becoming a bit of a tradition for me to do a fancy lingerie campaign launching on Halloween, which is fine by me! :D

Yesterday, Orchid Corsetry released their Autumn/ Winter 2015 collection, which exclusively features me modelling a beautiful range of the finest English corsets and lingerie handmade from the most sumptuous materials, photographed by Salleh Sparrow, who I've been wanting to shoot with for a while now. I was the only model used this year, and was allowed to do my own hair and makeup as usual, so I felt really comfortable :) I used my favourite Bareskin Beauty skincare, of course. My earrings are vintage 1940s costume jewellery that clip on rather than use piercings :)

Hope you like these pictures as much as I do and feel inspired to treat yourself to something really opulent to wear to parties this season, and/ or to give more shape to your winter clothes.

I will post more photos from Orchid Corsetry's latest campaign over the next week. Feel free to subscribe for free near the top right-hand corner of this page to have them e-mailed to you directly as and when I post them. NB: The mailing list is so private that even I'm not allowed to see the list of addresses, just so you know!!

Vintage glamour lingerie with What Katie Did, Fabulously Fetish & Bareskin Beauty

Lazy Sunday morning... actually, it's 1pm already... goes to show how lazy my morning has been...

Looking forward to modelling with my good friend Ivory Flame (go check out her new website!) at a stunning old mansion here in Somerset tomorrow. We've been booked together as a duo for fashion and art nude work before, but this is the first time we'll have shot vintage glamour together, one of my favourite styles :) Girly sleepover at mine tonight!

Hair Colour Clinic, Manic Street Preachers, foot #FetishFriday, book, Yule

Next in my list of publications/ commercial jobs that I failed to mention properly at the time is this hair colour shoot I did for the Hair Colour Clinic, right before I went on my Southeast Asia Tour in October. I love colour!!!

This is a bit of a different look for me, but it is nice when people have faith that I can do more commercial fashion and beauty looks, as well as the more retro/ fetish type looks I get booked so much for :) I am a chameleon, after all!

Apologies if you already saw the silver sparkly ones on Facebook!

I really want a silver sparkly tuxedo now, possibly complete with top hat, cane and slight air of campness ^_^

I was lucky enough to catch the last night of the Manic Street Preachers' Holy Bible Tour at the Roundhouse on Wednesday, which was actually the first time I've managed to see them live. I'm starting to get a bit bored of just "going to see rock bands" as I've kind of been doing that since I was 14, but they were amazing! Super tight and of course, great songs, one of my favourite rock albums ever. I was thrilled that they closed with glitter cannons to my favourite song, A Design for Life! It's only now I've gone back and looked at the fun socialist propaganda video for it, where they all look like teenagers, that I notice it appears to have actually been shot at the Roundhouse:

I'm sure askygoneonfire will be able to tell me, if she reads this ;)

I know I also had something published in Obscure magazine this autumn/ winter, but appropriately enough, I now seem unable to track it down anywhere, lol. But before I forget, you can at least check my Twitter for this week's #FetishFriday photos: elegant barefoot/ wrinkled soles images by SilkSoles.com :)

I've had my last shoot of the year now, which could be seen as meaning I'm on holiday, but really just means I have more time for the non-shooting work, as well as trying to gather Christmas gifts together and make sure all my Christmas cards are posted off, as well as my father's gift (he lives in France).

The book is still floundering at its very final stages of formatting before printing and publication, which is incredibly frustrating, as in my mind it has been DONE for months and months, but just not ready to print, for various technical reasons! I'm disappointed, as I had really expected it to be out for you guys before Christmas, but I know these things happen in their own time, and I certainly would never want to rush it out to catch the Christmas trade in exchange for lowering the quality of the information or presentation. Try to stash £12.99 away (or flog £12.99's worth of unwanted gifts on eBay in January) for the New Year, when I promise it will be ready for you to use to enhance your career and personal freelance modelling journey, and all for the price of a couple of drinks this season, or one cocktail in London ;) I'll let you know when, of course. Hang onto the e-receipt, because I want to be able to give gifts to those who acquire the book to say thanks :)

Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, according to my diary, so I'm going to check out some of my local celebrations in Glastonbury, although "real" Winter Solstice this year is technically the day after tomorrow, apparently. I don't really care, I just want to see wah gwan :) The last time I went to Glastonbury was with Roswell Ivory, and we were surprised and delighted with the level of Pagan hippie shenanigans on an ordinary weekday afternoon, so I'm kind of hoping they'll be pulling out all the stops tomorrow!

Rebelicious magazine latex Star Wars editorial #FetishFriday

I was reminded when updating my website for the first time in about a year last night/ early this morning that I haven't been blogging my publications like I used to. So, here is the latest one that I know of, an interview with Magpie Photography in Rebelicious magazine with some fun Star Wars themed photos we shot on my last Norfolk trip. I actually won the custom latex Storm Trooper bikini from Shhh! Couture in a Facebook competition :D The Star Wars necklaces were lent for the shoot by Chimeric Garnish. Skincare as always by Bareskin Beauty.

I was quite attached to the ATAT by the end of the day.

Anita De Bauch's guide to Valentine's Day, for him, for her, for you.

Photographer: Phine Ka | Wardrobe: Fabulously Fetish | Skincare: Bareskin Beauty

I'm a full-time vintage glamour and nude model, I'm in a long-term relationship, and I love any excuse to celebrate something.

Sometimes I just celebrate the fact that I finished my emails early and there's something good on telly. I've just sort of become like that in my twenties :)

So, even though it can be almost as hideously crass and commercial as Christmas, but with added pressure to "be attractive", I do celebrate Valentine's Day every year, as long as I'm actually home and not on a shoot in some exotic country overseas.

Fun, romance, sexiness, closeness, feeling special- these things aren't restricted to Valentine's Day, but then why would anyone want to avoid them, either? Roll on, 14th February!

With this in mind, I've written my own little guide full of personal Valentine's Day tips for everyone, whether you're in a relationship or not. Enjoy!

For Him

Traditional gifts are perfectly acceptable as long as they are given thoughtfully- a silk tie he'll definitely love, a bottle of his aftershave, a DVD of his favourite porno (NOT a knock-off!). This isn't a day to try and mould him into something he isn't, so avoid cuff links if he wears button cuffs, tickets to an event he isn't interested in or a bottle of wine if he's a whisky drinker. Find something he'll enjoy receiving that you'll also enjoy giving.

Which brings us conveniently to the sex. Not that any man worth dating should be making negative judgements about you in the bedroom, but to make yourself feel even more sexy and secure in your skin, prep your body at home in a candlelit bathroom with a Spicy Spa Body Scrub followed by a high quality, intensive raw chocolate body butter.

Create an atmosphere in your boudoir that makes you feel sensual: soft lighting, incense (I find men seem to like Indian Nag Champa!), silk sheets, romantic music. I mean, do it right now! Don't wait until Valentine's Day! Get comfortable in that room alone as well as in company, so that it always feels natural to be relaxed and confident in there :)

If you're a girl dressing for your partner, wearing classic sexy lingerie that makes you feel great is always advised! The classics have stood the test of time for a reason; they are flattering to all women, regardless of age, body type or skin tone. Playful Promises do wonderful bra, suspender belt and knicker sets, as well as corsets and one-piece lingerie, which are super flattering for everyone, especially if you like to feel more "covered".
Playful Promises bra set by Jim Nemer and suspender dress by CJ Chmiel.

Tip: wearing your knickers over your suspender belt is much more convenient for taking them off!

For Her

Now, there is a lot of nonsense out there about how women don't like traditional romantic gifts, usually perpetuated by companies trying to flog silly crap to worried people! Honestly, I don't know a woman who doesn't love being given roses or jewellery. There is a reason that these gift ideas have stood the test of time, too!

The key to success with any gift is to make it personal and thoughtful, and go for quality over quantity. One exquisite gift is infinitely better than an off-the-shelf selection from Boots or Tesco. Approach your local florist and get creative with them in designing the perfect bouquet for your darling instead of picking up a cheap posy from a supermarket. Similarly, instead of buying mass-produced jewellery, or showing off by buying expensive jewels, collaborate with an ethical artisan like Anathema Designs to create something beautiful and utterly unique :)

My personal favourite Anathema Designs jewellery- she does do fine, subtle pieces as well, but I like jewellery to be BIG :)
Photographer: Ian Cashman

On the other hand, a plastic statuette of a frog could be an ideal gift, if you know that your loved one happens to have a thing about plastic frogs! In this case, I would recommend balancing the idiosyncratic gift with a traditional romantic one like the roses or jewellery, and never ever buy a woman something practical for Valentine's Day!

If you'd like to surprise her with lingerie, check her lingerie drawer first. Read the labels to figure out what sizes to get and see what colours and styles she likes.

Valentine's Day isn't a good time to start springing new things on your partner- a lingerie "gift" that you kind of know she'll hate, or fetish items that she's never shown an interest in. Start small. Some beautiful fetish-friendly gifts for Valentine's Day could include retro lingerie, seamed silk stockings, a bespoke pair of skyscraper heels, a hardback erotic novel with a handwritten dedication, or some custom-made latex hair bows and flowers in pretty colours (generally, pastels work with blonde hair, jewel colours for brunettes and redheads, anything goes with jet black hair, and black goes with everything).

Tip: if you haven't figured out how your partner likes your facial fuzz yet, ask! Use the best raw shaving products you can find to make your skin look and feel kissable.

For You

Wearing Lady Allura's Latex, shot by 3 Elements
I've saved the best till last!

Whether you choose to date on Valentine's Day or not, you should take some time out to love yourself, for sure. I love getting Juliette Scarfe on board to take care of my body, inside and out, and buying myself any of the items listed above: latex, lingerie, jewellery, flowers, the works!

This year, I bought myself some scented beeswax candles, an exotic orchid with red heart-shaped flowers, and I'm even collaborating with Lady Allura's Latex to create a signature Anita De Bauch capsule collection. As an experienced rubber-wearer, I've always wanted to design latex that was of an elegant and beautiful quality, easy to wear and affordable, which is what this collection will be! at least we'll know what to buy next year ;)

6 Top Tips by a Model for the Run-up to Christmas :)

Here are my six top tips for getting through the Christmas period without feeling too stressed, broke or fat, and looking pretty damn good all the while. Enjoy!

1.  Start early
Seeing Christmas decorations and hearing the hideous jangly music in shops since August is undoubtedly torturous BUT if you buy/ make your gifts, cards, decorations and non-perishable food and drink items at a leisurely pace, whenever you happen to be in the mood with an hour to spare, well in advance, picking up bargains when you spot them instead of thinking "no point buying it yet", your manic Christmas Eve shopping will be reduced to simply buying the fruit and veg from whatever store's nearest. For extra stress-saving, you could even have them delivered (see point 2!).

2.  Do it online
You can probably order absolutely everything you need for Christmas online: groceries, gifts, tree and any train or coach tickets you might need for visiting friends and family. Many of these items are cheaper when booked well in advance (see point 1). I have even designed my own couture Christmas cards with a glamorous Winter Wonderland theme that you can order online. Doing it online saves time, petrol money, the environment (if you drive) and elbowing your way past hoardes of panicked shoppers, and it doesn't mean you have to buy everything from faceless homogenised online shops either. Try Bare Skin Beauty for organic toiletries for ladies and gents, Anathema Designs for designer upcycled jewellery, Lady Allura for quirky latex accessories and Fabulously Fetish for bespoke shoes to carry you through parties :)

3.  Don't go mental
I'm sure one of the greatest sources of stress at this time of year is the post-Christmas weight gain. Not only does gaining 10 lb make you look and feel bloated, but as you probably didn't gain it through overeating satsumas, it will most likely be accompanied by acne, wrinkles, blotchy skin, constipation, greasy hair, lethargy etc. Joy! Add all that to the cold and dark in January and it's no wonder everyone feels depressed!

I'm not saying you shouldn't enjoy Christmas treats, but try to engage a little damage control. You probably don't need three servings of mashed potato- two would be just as good :) You probably don't need Christmas cake and pudding and mince pies and a tin of Roses- just pick your favourite.

You could tweak Christmas dinner in almost undetectable ways to make it healthier and easier to digest, so you don't feel so wiped afterwards. Try roasting in coconut oil (it doesn't make things taste like coconut, but it's a "good fat" even at high temperatures!), leaving the skins on your vegetables, picking gluten-free options, having a salad of Christmas fruits for breakfast (satsumas, apples, pears, red grapes and oranges are all traditional!), making your hot chocolate with almond milk instead of dairy and sprinkling cinnamon on everything.

Juliette Scarfe at Bare Skin Beauty is my personal nutritionist, who I recommend to all my friends. If seeing her in person for nutritional advice on looking your best isn't convenient, you can book an online consultation at a reduced rate of £149 and get a bespoke set of toiletries custom made for your skin included. That'll be nice for relaxing with when this is all over.

4.  Don't go mental with your spending, either
Check your balance, see how much money you have coming in over December and January, subtract whatever you know you'll need for bills, and then work out a sensible budget for buying gifts- it's a more relaxed approach than wasting Christmas and January worrying about credit card bills, that's for sure! Thoughtful gifts are remembered better than expensive ones, anyway! Bare Skin Beauty will handmake a customised gift set of organic toiletries to suit the person you have in mind, and your budget- just give them a number. I'm having them make a special set for my grandmother this year that incorporates her vegetarianism, blood pressure and love of lavendar, for 25 quid. Money well spent :) Anathema Designs, Fabulously Fetish and Lady Allura's Latex can all make bespoke treasures to suit your loved ones, so just ask, and they'll take care of it.

5.  Now is not the time to buy new dresses
I can't believe I just said that.

But seriously, as per point 3, you will probably not be as big for the rest of the year as you are on New Year's Eve, so why pay out for a dress you can't wear again until this time next year? Find something that's beautiful and has a little give- fabrics like jersey stretch, or go for something with lacing or a belt that you can adjust, or an Empire waist that can accommodate a belly of any size. You'll be at your NYE party until at least midnight so it's important to be comfortable as well as elegant!

Picking shoes is also crucial- if your budget won't stretch to good shoes and a good bag, go with the shoes. They will be supporting your whole body weight and posture for hours. Cheap shoes are so torturous, I'm surprised they haven't started forcing terror suspects to don a pair of wobbly ankle-benders and totter around a cocktail party in increasingly sweaty panty hose for six hours without being allowed to stop smiling. Yet some us do it to ourselves!

The best route is to have a pair of heels custom made to fit your unique measurements by experts- if you don't already have a great pair of black patent court shoes, now is the time to get them, as there simply isn't a situation in which they don't look glamorous- you can wear them from office to party to bedroom without breaking a sweat. I had mine made by Fabulously Fetish and would definitely recommend them as London's leading high heel experts.

Get the shoes sorted before buying a dress! Fabulously Fetish "Bettie" heels shot by Callan Tham

6.  Focus on the good stuff
Being so busy, I find getting ready for Christmas tricky sometimes, especially with often being all over the world shooting until almost Christmas Eve most years. I guess most people are at least in their home country during the run-up to Christmas, but that doesn't necessarily make things much easier if you work long hours and have little time to prepare in a fun, relaxed sort of a way.

Simplify your plans, and if you can't do that, delegate. So often, it seems like the responsibility for organising Christmas falls to the women, but remember that the purpose of getting together with friends and family is to catch up, relax and enjoy their company. This is more important than making sure that the table napkins match the tree decorations or that lunch is served precisely on time :)

We rarely have the opportunity to spend a whole day or several days back-to-back with the people we spend Christmas with, so even if they drive you crazy, try to remember why you wanted to be with them in the first place, and make time to re-connect.

With much love,

Anita xx

Video of Anita De Bauch modelling Anathema Designs at a photo shoot

I had a lovely shoot at home today- a four hour 1930s glamour shoot that worked perfectly in my 1930s lounge. Hopefully I'll be able to share the photos here soon :)

In the meantime, let's have a video for #NakedSundays for a change! This is a BTS video from a fashion shoot for Anathema Designs, a beautiful high-end bespoke London jeweller and my latest sponsor. Expect to see more of her work appearing in my photos soon! What a pleasure it was to do this shoot; I'm so happy she made this video of it and let me share it :)

I have a consultation with my other new sponsor tomorrow, Bare Skin Beauty, a raw organic natural skincare company that I'm super excited about (I just recently wrote a whole blog about the lip balm!) because I'm well into natural skincare and their products have already improved my skin dramatically. Tomorrow I'll be chatting with Juliette about my diet and lifestyle and having her analyse my skin to suggest further improvements I can make. It should be really interesting!

I ate quite a bit of fatty food (fried mushrooms and tomatoes for lunch, Chelsea buns as shoot snacks!) today as I noticed at yesterday's shoot I was starting to look, imo, too skinny; I know I get cross when people complain about being able to see my ribcage, but really, it was ridiculous, my stomach was just too small and my arms looked like matchsticks when I wasn't flexing them (I have pretty good biceps!)... I think the main issue is that I looked how I felt, viz skinny, pasty and sweaty. I had to keep piling on the blusher as there wasn't a trace of blood in my face and drinking gallons of water. I haven't been eating any less than usual so I think it must a combination of having a sudden detoxing step forward (I was also getting headaches today), overwork, and re-introducing daily workouts after I just didn't have time for about a month. It's nothing to worry about, in fact I even noticed in the shots today that my booty was looking nice and round again ;) I probably just lost every last ounce of water retention all in one go.

Detox tea and bed! I'm out of green smoothie ingredients so porridge with rice milk for breakfast tomorrow, I guess!
