Vintage #WardrobeWednesday... and my holiday snaps. Sorry.

Are we glad the weather's warming up??? I sure am. Here's a photo of me warming my butt by the fire last winter, by Scarecrow Images! We included a couple of other very famous models in the shot, too ;)

I did the hair, makeup and wardrobe styling :)

I'll be bringing my vintage wardrobe to my Eye For an Image Studio Day in Banbury next month, if anyone would like to shoot some nice black and whites there (they had a lovely vintage dressing table set last time I visited) :) Email contact@anitadebauch.com.

Just got back from a week's holiday in Cheddar, where I spent most of my time barefoot and makeup-free, reading my psychonautics books (massively recommend Alterations of Consciousness to any psychology and/ or parapsychology/ shaman types out there! I have a psychology degree but this book totally changed the way I think about awareness and the brain), enjoying magical Glastonbury and fresh local food during the day and lying in the grass stargazing at night

C15th church in Glastonbury on Good Friday.
Sorry if you've already seen all these on Facebook/ Twitter/ Tumblr/ Instagram!

Until I actually live in the countryside, I think I'm going to try and make a holiday out there every springtime from now on. It's the perfect time to visit, with all the wild flowers and blossom trees bursting to life, the sun coming out and baby animals EVERYWHERE! I loved walking into the village to buy my almond milk and other supplies and seeing baby rabbits springing away down the path, and lots of friendly farm animals!

I fed a mummy sheep :D

I also visited a wool farm and bonded with the lambs. They are like living teddy bears! So much more cuddly and immediately trusting than say, a pet dog would be. As soon as I put this little chap on my lap he draped himself over my shoulder for a cuddle, just like Dexter and Lilith do, and gave me lots of fuzzy face nuzzles and little kisses

Look at his little smile!!!! *cuteness overload*

If he wasn't going to grow into a full-grown sheep I'd have offered to buy him on the spot. I'll just have to make do with this imbecile.

Dexter, high off his arse on catnip in Glastonbury. You couldn't make this up.

Full day latex, lingerie and art nude shoot at a wicked studio with loads of cool sets in London tomorrow. Must go now to pack and do my nails :)

Old photos: four generations of De Bauch women from the 1920s to 2010s

I guess I'm a matriarch at heart because I'm way more interested in tracing the women in my family than the men, even though my dad's side is technically Italian nobility (they built the Tower of Pisa and if a couple of people died I'd technically be able to call myself Countess De Bauch).

Women's lives are more interesting to me, I have floor to ceiling shelves of photo books and biographies of women I admire and I love looking through old photo albums that have been passed down from my mother's side.

My mother: bilingual pro folk singer and guitarist, Bachelor of Art, DIY expert

My mother's mother's mother posing for a photo in 1920s London: she was a lift operator in Selfridges

My mother's mother (my Nan) modelling in the 1940s

Me and my darling Nan at her place last summer

Happy Mother's Day :)

PS Mom if you're reading this, I'm still going to be posting #NakedSundays on Twitter and Tumblr today. Soz.

"... POWERFUL AND COMPELLING"

I have some more romantic pictures of my sweetheart and me modelling together in London :) These photos were taken at by Alison Carlino from Texas during The Societies Convention earlier this month, just days before our tenth anniversary. I know it's unusual for a couple our age to have been together so long, but hey, we're pretty unusual in general :) Alison captured us perfectly; this is what true love looks like to me, at this point in our London-y lives.

Most shoots I've done so far this month have been bridal/ couples-related!

Just yesterday, the day of our actual anniversary, I was up in York working on a big shoot for a cluster of bridal clients' SS14 collections.

The typical fashion model problem- that summer clothes are shot in winter, and winter clothes in summer- arose, resulting in 8 hours of strapless dresses in temperatures of -4°C. Even the male agency model was cold, and he was in a suit! But I think mind over matter led to some great pictures, which of course makes everything worth it :)

Having my hair and makeup done yesterday. No Photoshop, just good skincare (Bareskin Beauty)!

My hotel room the night before

Tired but happy to be defrosting indoors after a great shoot :)

oh, and last thing- happy Burns Night, everyone!

I don't think I'll be touching any whiskey or haggis (although the prize-winning haggis I tried on my Scottish Tour was pretty tasty!)- will champagne and strawberries do?

You can never have too much EctoMorph latex, but you *can* have too much information!

Home from three lovely shoots at the new Scarlet Door Studio in Bracknell today. I like shooting with new people and checking out new studios :) Here is a snap of the last look of the day (you've probably already seen it on Facebook), which I styled myself!

I call it the electromullet!

I'm sorry to those of you who didn't like the messy picture of me in my last blog. I know that my usual 'look' is perfectly groomed, primped and styled, but honestly, when five hot guys from a famous supergroup like AxeWound tell the makeup team to mess up your hair and cover you in blood and bodypaint, you go with it! I like the idea of letting rip and going crazy once in a while! Don't we all need to do that sometimes?? If nothing else, it helps me appreciate being clean, groomed and elegant all the more!! It's nice not have syrup up my nose, food dye on my teeth, and to not be constantly sticking to things right now, for example!

Here's a little over-share for you: the day after the AxeWound shoot, I honestly thought my period had come on early, but it turned out to be fake blood- i.e. red syrup- that had presumably worked its way in while I was straddling bleeding things and was now working its way back out again. Yes, really. I give a whole new meaning to the term "sweet pussy"!

Well, now I'm bathed and dressed once again, here's a photo for those who prefer a more "traditional" Anita- you know who you are ;) This is from a recent EctoMorph latex fashion shoot with photographer Darren Birkin, and I did the hair and makeup myself (apologies if you've already seen it on Facebook or Twitter). EctoMorph are a very well-established latex label that dress celebrities like cult actress and singer Eileen Daly! This is the second time I have been invited to shoot for them and I hope they will offer to wrap me up in beautiful latex couture again soon!

For personally signed posters and 8x10s of me wearing latex, please browse my Shop!

Isn't the location fabulous? I didn't realise until I arrived that it was the home of my burlesque bombshell friend Banbury Cross! Isn't it a small world? Her apartment is absolutely fabulous; a converted ballroom full of vintage furniture, taxidermy and even antique dentistry equipment! It was like a beautiful little living museum and I would love to shoot there again (*hint hint* to any photographers reading this, hee hee)!

This is only one half of the room, as I couldn't fit the whole thing into one photo, but isn't the ceiling lovely?

I also got to meet Banbury's pet ferrets after the shoot. They are so pretty! The girls, anyway. I don't know if I've ever met a boy ferret, but she says they are bigger and smellier! Good to know!! I still prefer my freaky little hairless babies though... here is one of them, my little lady Lilith, fast asleep in her PJs in front of the fire:

The cats and I are catching the train to Somerset tomorrow to visit my boyfriend at his parents' house for a family weekend in the countryside! I think the kitties will love chasing butterflies in the garden and no doubt being spoiled rotten with scraps from the barbecue party! I'm really looking forward to it all!

Lots of love,

Anita xxx

Lady Lucie Latex, art nude location shoot in beautiful Somerset, and general waffle!

Do you find that everything on the internet seems to take you about three times as long as you thought it would? I'm not talking about pages loading slowly or anything, I'm talking about time literally seeming to pass at an accelerated rate and/ or html coding being a lot more fiddly and contrary than you thought it would be.

It's just taken me the best part of two days to update anitadebauch.com (for the love of God, please go and have a look at it and ooh and ahh over the minor alterations and new photos, or even just pretend you did and leave a comment saying "looks nice" so that I don't go insane), my ModelMayhem portfolio and to post "studio provided" and "studio not provided" casting calls. Admittedly, the latter is probably the longest and most detailed casting call I have ever written, but still! I have redecorating to be doing!

My new 1940s silver screen-inspired bedroom is nearly complete :) This is the "mood board" for what it will look like when it's been done, if you're interested!

Today we painted the new floor to ceiling bookshelf, so I can arrange all my books, hats, perfumes and pictures on it tomorrow. We also have a new king size bed! Thank goodness! We can't actually sleep in the bedroom until the paint is dry though, as it's really toxic stuff to breathe in (must remember to buy eco paint next time!). For the time being, our little nuclear family (me, boyfriend, two cats) are camping on our living room floor, along with all my belongings. It's surprisingly cosy, actually, like camping, but dry!

Latex: Lady Lucie | Photographer: Alistair Wright | Styling: moi :)

Dexter doesn't understand what's going on but hopes the giant cat basket, which he kindly allows us to share with him and his sister, will last

Oop, just been told that I'm going to be in a big house in the Somerset countryside 19th - 21st August! I know some really stunning locations for art nudes nearby, so if you're interested in shooting some location nudes on a mountain, in the forest and the ruins of a witch's cottage, all on the same day and for £250, please email contact@anitadebauch.com! I'll write a proper casting call tomorrow but I thought I'd just mention it here first while I think of it, in case any photographers are reading! :) I've got some lovely new hair flowers and floaty skirts that would look so beautiful and nymph-like in those surroundings ^_^ I could also bring my new designer wedding dress- it could look very cool with the skirts blowing on top of a mountain!

We might even be able to shoot some boudoir at the house, too, which has a very nice newly redecorated double bedroom. I'll be bringing my Sphynx cats along too- they're devilishly handsome and make for great co-models!

If you are a photographer, model, stylist or other industry-type person, you should join my "PRO" Facebook page! It's not just for professionals to join, but rather refers to the fact that I only post "pro" industry-related stuff in there, not endless stream of consciousness babble like I do here and on my fan page ;) I not only post my own casting calls, but if I see any casting calls from other people that I think look good but I can't apply to for some reason (e.g. I have the wrong stats or I'm unavailable on the requested date), I share them there for other models to apply for, if they want to. Share the love, that's my motto! ♥ A thriving community is beneficial to us all!

Anyway, I'll stop pimping myself now and go and shower the paint out of my hair! A glamour girl's work is never done!!

Lots of love,

Anita xxx

La Vedette Atomique!

Yesterday was the eighth anniversary of the night I kidnapped Liam and made him my unholy bride :)

It was precisely ten days after my eighteenth birthday and although I had a funny feeling that I was starting a new chapter in my life, it never crossed my mind that years later, after many ups and downs, we would finally be living happily ever after in a 1930s apartment in North London with two bald cats, that I'd earn my living from my dream job or that he'd be planning paid research into political theory.

It just goes to show that you never know what's around the corner!

Apparently lace is a traditional eighth anniversary gift!
Photographer, hair and wardrobe stylist: Faye Yerbury | Makeup: me

We celebrated with dinner on the very top floor of the Gherkin, right under the dome, with panoramic views of St Paul's Cathedral, the Shard, the Tower of London and London Bridge <3

Liam wore his charcoal pinstripe Pierre Cardin suit and deep red Saville Road necktie and I wore my new ankle-length Rita Hayworth-inspired shimmering gold evening gown with strappy 5" Kurt Geiger heels, black and gold star French Connection clutch, smoky MAC eyeshadow and slicked back hair, Parisian couture style.

It was so romantic! <3 <3 <3

Photo of the Gherkin's 40|30 bar I took on my phone and then tried to brighten in Photoshop so you can see more! Loved the French waiters!

I leave you with a "behind the scenes" shot that Faye took of me lacing into my corset at the Boudoir Academy @ The Chesterfield Mayfair!

Merry Christmas, De Bauchees!

I'm at my mother's house in the beautiful Somerset countryside for a traditional family Christmas with a new addition- the cats! They officially became too old for kitten food while I was away in Asia. Sob! They grow up so fast!

They are loving their first Christmas, with an open log fire to snooze in front of all day, plenty of salmon to eat, decorations to play with and more people than usual to cuddle them and rub their bald little pot bellies!

Anyway, as usual I was snowed under with modelling work in the run-up to Christmas and completely failed to arrange a Christmassy shot for my blog. This is the most festive new modelling photo I could find, from one of my many many shoots in Asia over the last two months :p

Photographer: Lem Cheng Hai | Bra: Jane Doe Latex, latex thong: Cathouse Clothing | Styling: me

Next year I am determined to post all my fans individual, personal gifts to their homes. Yes, really! I just didn't have time to organise it this year; but next year, look out!

Wishing all my friends and loved ones a merry Christmas and a De Bauched new year!

Love and kisses,

Yesterday’s News

So, my trip to Japan has been put off by two days :(

Yesterday, I was supposed to fly from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and then change there for my flight to Tokyo, but my flight from Singapore was over an hour late arriving in KL, so I missed my connection, and the next flight to Tokyo isn’t until tomorrow, so I’m stuck in KL until then :(

The airline are putting me up in a hotel and having me fed/ watered/ taxi’d until then, but it’s still a bit annoying as I was looking forward to my Japanese holiday! I suppose they’re doing all they can.

And in my determination to find the silver lining, I have hit upon the fact that having two days to just roll back and forth between queen sized bed and hot bath in a half-decent hotel room is probably just what I need to recover from my cold, which started a couple of days ago. Apparently blowing your nose in public is incredibly rude in Japan and in my current state I wouldn’t be able to avoid doing it quite a lot.

So, thanks to my flight being delayed by two days, hopefully I will be able to make the most of Tokyo when I do finally get there and without needlessly offending anyone!

The other stitch in the silver lining is that I can catch up with my blogging :)

I seemed to blog almost every day last time I was in Singapore, when I was working roughly one day on, one day off, but this year I was working more or less 14 hour days every day, so I didn’t really have the chance to write and post photos anywhere other than Facebook and Twitter.

Now I can have a bit of a catch-up on my news from the last few days while listening to the call to prayer going on outside. I’ve heard it a lot on this trip but never get bored with hearing it again. Such a beautiful sound <3

Monday was my last shoot in Singapore: an awesomely cool fashion/ art video with a fabulous creative team led by Ukay Cheung, one of Singapore’s top fashion photographers, which I was really looking forward to! And it didn’t disappoint :D

I don’t want to give away too much before the video is released, but here is a “behind the scenes” snap that Ukay took!

 Trying not to look ill!

While in Singapore I also did two shoots in a building owned- and abandoned- by the Sultan of Brunei. Legend has it that it is haunted. I didn't see any ghosts, but it was a great post-apocalyptic type location to shoot in!

 The Sultan’s haunted house?

On Sunday I actually had a day off (!) in Singapore, and apart from doing a LOT of sleeping, I found time to do a little dress shopping and visit the Long Bar at the famous Raffles Hotel for a classic Singapore Sling at my “usual” table.

 Chin chin!

Cocktail enthusiasts may be interested to know that Raffles has introduced a range of different Slings:

I also revisited the Raffles landing site:

And I finally, finally got to go to the night safari, which I think I’ve been on about for weeks now! It was worth the wait. My favourites were the elephants and flamingos, but the lionesses having dinner and the flying foxes gliding from tree to tree came a close joint second! And all under a partially eclipsed orange moon <3

 Lionesses eating their meaty noms

Flying fox planning his next move <3

I also thought these chairs in the café were really cool, haha.

And on the way back from the zoo, I got driven through the famous Orchard Road illuminations while I listened to Neon Blonde on my iPod. It was such a magical evening <3

That’s all for now, I think- I leave you in order to curl up alone in my big bed and make a two-pronged Western + Chinese medicine attack on this goddamn cold! I don’t actually feel ill in myself, but the symptoms are driving me crazy- they must be stopped!!

Vicks throat sweets + Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa, which is like an entire bottle of the honey you get in the middle of Strepsils. A real time-saver!

Nighty night, wherever you are and whatever time zone you’re in ;)

New lingerie, corsetry and art nude photos from one of my Singapore workshops :)

Still no time for the Singapore Night Safari, lol! Bookings in Singapore were still pouring in yesterday, so that I'm doing multiple shoots per day to get to shoot with everyone. I'm managing to keep Sunday free so far so that I can stay up a little late on Saturday night and see cute animals at the zoo ^_^

Here is one of the finished photos from the lighting workshop I posted a "behind the scenes" shot from in my last blog :)

Photographer: Lem Cheng Hai | Styling: me

One of the suspender clips at the back snapped during the shoot so I gave it to Lem as he thinks he can fix it with a paperclip or somesuch! Me, I'd rather use the excuse to have a new corset made, now that I "need" one ;D

Here is a photograph from the art nude segment of the workshop. I love symmetry in nudes!

Photographer: Christopher Blake

I've had a bit of a purge of the Art Nude Gallery on anitadebauch.com; next up, the Fashion Gallery, when I have time and coffee!

Corsets, curly red hair, vintage stockings and... chapatis

So, this is a behind the scenes/ candid snap of me adding a little twist of my own glamour style to one of my photographic workshops in Singapore on Friday night :)

Photographer: Lem Chang Hai | Makeup and wardrobe: me | Hair: curled courtesy of tropical humidity

Yes, my hair really does go this curly in humid conditions, if I let it. All I needed to do on Friday was comb and clip it!
I had another workshop yesterday, followed by a latex shoot at the same studio, followed by satay and sugar cane juice with the studio owner at Newton Circus, followed by chatting to Liam on Facebook IM until 2 am, my time!

Therefore, today is a leisurely day off... I had a little wander around the Persian rug stores on Arab Street and then went to my favourite restaurant in Little India for a VIP Thali followed by Singapore coffee. The thali was so enormous I actually had to return to my room afterwards to lie down! :p One of my favourite things about Asia is all the incredible Indian, Chinese, Malay, and Japanese food, the fresh juices, and the wide range of vegetarian options in Little India is just fabulous.

Epic VIP Thali of delicious, diet-destroying doom. I'm not actually a vegetarian but I don't eat all that much meat and like going to vegetarian and vegan restaurants when I can :)

I'm shooting tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday, then have another day off. Hopefully I will have time to go on Night Safari at some point on this trip- I desperately wanted to go when I was here last year, but every time I had a night off, there was a monsoon! In the absence of my kittens, I must go and coo over other cute animals, but my schedule is rather more packed this year!

It kind of looks like Jurassic Park, but without Jeff Goldblum in a leather jacket stuttering and pushing his glasses up and being all cute. Oh, and dinosaurs. One can't have it all ;)

Time travel in Hong Kong, with added latex and boobies, part 1

Well, what did you expect? ;p

I'll start by posting a new modelling photo by George Swift to lure you into thinking that this is actually going to be a blog about modelling.

Latex: Lady Lucie | Styling: me
You can see the black and white version, which I think I actually prefer, in the Portraits Gallery on anitadebauch.com :)

It isn't. It's going to be more of a personal memories diary for myself of parts of this year's trip to Hong Kong, so that I can look back on years from now and remember what I did and how it felt :) Sorry!

Yesterday I planned to visit the Hong Kong Museum of History in the morning and then spend the whole of the afternoon and evening visiting the various markets and doing some Christmas shopping. However, the museum was so enormous that I ended up in there all day, only popping out mid-afternoon for a delicious late lunch of honey pork udon and Cantonese dumplings! Apparently I was so enthralled by both museum and dumplings (especially the folk culture section) that I only remembered to take one photo from the outside and one photo from the inside :p

Hong Kong 1950s and 1960s comic books

Traditional style Hong Kong grocery store, noticed especially after I'd learned about their history at the museum! You can smell all the dried seafood before you spot them!

Item from the not-so traditional lingerie store next door. Something may have been lost in translation here, I feel!

I'll be posting tons of tourist pics tomorrow, once I've re-sized them all ;) x
