Say cheese, bitch!

This month is turning into a right bondage fest! I usually get booked to look cross and pouty with my hands on my hips so it's a change of pace to be playing the submissive role. I have booked at least six or seven bondage jobs this month and there look to be even more in the pipeline!

I'm even modelling for a shibari workshop in North London tonight. Shibari is the ancient and beautiful art of Japanese rope bondage, a very historically and culturally interesting craft, as well as being lots of kinky fun to work with. I had a shibari photo shoot just this week and can't wait to share the photos. The effect of the rope looked really stunning on the back of the camera.

Last week saw me in a gorgeous house in the Cornish countryside for a few days of modelling for one of the classiest bondage websites out there, Restrained Elegance, with my friends Ariel Anderssen and Katy Cee. Ariel is a great rigger as well as model and did most of the tying up!

Katy and me, as tied by Ariel! Apologies if you already saw this on Twitter or Tumblr! Click for super-sized view :)

Here is Ariel working on rigging us up (that's her hand on the left!)- these complicated ties take time!

It's not often you see really nice two-girl ties of this quality, so here is another one for you, this time taken in my room for the week! It was a lovely attic room with sloping ceilings, skylights overlooking the rolling fields and woodlands with a dark chocolate satin bed that I could listen to the owls hooting in at night ♥

Checking out my bonds

This was a particularly ambitious tie for Ariel as it involved using two different coloured ropes, sky blue and gold! They worked really well with Katy's and my autumnal hair colours, blue eyes and fair skin but in order to get it perfect, it took a little while. We didn't mind in the least but Ariel was so worried that our arms would drop off before she'd finished! We did get a pillow to lean on while we were waiting though, which made all the difference ;)

I've got three different workshops to model for this week, including the shibari one tonight! If you happen to be one of the delegates, hello and thanks for keeping me busy :)

Happy Halloween!

As promised, some pics for those of us not out partying tonight ;) I had a look through the cache of photos on my hard drive and couldn't find any obviously Halloween-related ones, like me dressed up as a witch or a devil or something, so my theme for this photo blog is "slightly spooky-looking photos I have shot with other models." If only I could think of a catchier title :p

This first one's an oldie from February 2010 by Adam Robertson, featuring Madame Bink. I think this was the first time Binky and I shot together... I believe we also shot the promo material for a fetish party called Festival of Sins at the same time.

This one is from my first shoot with Ivory Flame, which was also my first shoot underwater! There were two lights, one on each side, that were both supposed to fire to get an evenly lit picture, but in this particular shot, only the one on the left went off. I actually really like the dramatic effect this had :)

This is another old one, from so long ago that I don't even know what year it was! Maybe 2008? It was shot with Ulorin Vex by Gregory Brown in a crumbling insane asylum called Hellingly, which has since been demolished.

I was shooting in Spain this year with photographer Chris Zietek and his wife, Anetta. We love costumes, so I think a couple of our shots can be included in a Halloween blog :)

And a slightly more recent one of Binky and me by RHM Photographic to finish, from summer 2011 when I had short hair after a run of hair modelling jobs where it got cut/ shaved progressively shorter! Everyone calls this the "giddy up" shot!

Great shoot today! We got some great latex shots and I baked these Halloween cupcakes for the photographer and me to have with our teas :) I used brown sugar, sunflower marge, wholemeal flour and a lot of organic apricots to sweeten them, so not tooo unhealthy, I suppose... they certainly were yummy, anyway, which is the important thing!

My only other nod in the direction of Halloween this year (except writing this blog) is that I'm going to see Suspiria at The Phoenix tonight :D

It's a 70s film about a ballet school run by witches and the cinema is the oldest in Britain with original 1930s interiors, so it should be really atmospheric and cool :) Time to break out the big eyeshadow and lipstick, if ever there was one!

Well, okay, this isn't what I'm going to wear to the cinema, it's one of the latex outfits I wore at today's shoot (thanks for the Westward Bound top, Roswell!). I'm not sure how the general public would react if I went about my daily business encased head-to-toe in skintight latex. Perhaps that's a theme for another photo shoot! But anyway, this is the makeup I'm wearing tonight.

Happy Halloween!

Dark love and vampire kisses,

Behind the scenes at Jerry Ghionis' London workshop. Lots of pics!

I modelled for three days at Jerry Ghionis' wedding/ couple's portraiture workshop in London recently (would have done four days, but I had a music video to shoot!) and was sent these photos from some of the students via the organisers. They are all straight off the camera and unedited. I know that I'm allowed to post them, or I wouldn't have been sent them, but I wasn't sent all the names of the photographers that took each shot, so if you recognise your work, shout out and I'll credit you! There were about 20 photographers shooting us so impossible for me to guess who took what!

Sometimes it's hard to keep a straight face when you're pretending to be married to someone you've only just met! :)

I was actually supposed to be trying to make Marc laugh on this one ;)

 Day #3, Look #3

Me and my new "boyfriend", Elliot Collins, getting steamy in the phonebox. I'm so fickle with men, huh??

Will you ever look at a phone box the same way again?? I sure won't!

At the end of the workshop, all the models went back to Elliot's place for a little celebration! He lives locally and his penthouse flat is amazing, in fact I should really ask if I can use it for a shoot sometime! It was great to make some new modelly friends and I hope we all stay in contact :)

If anyone would like to book me and one of my "husbands" for a duo shoot, please email contact@anitadebauch.com and I'll see if I can work out some sort of deal for you :) I know now that we can work together well, and are relaxed around each other, and now I've seen them both modelling in the flesh I can safely recommend them both as really excellent male models. Marc is definitely a natural poser (in the best possible way!) and Elliot is a trained dancer who can do all sorts of freaky flexibility type poses that no ordinary model could dream of doing!

I'll be posting the photos by the man himself once I have picked out which ones I want him to edit for me and share them with you here, so if you're interested in seeing them, please subscribe to my blog- right hand column of this page :)

Ivory Flame & Anita De Bauch: underwater art nude nymphs

If you haven't seen the NEW Underwater Gallery over at anitadebauch.com yet, here are the photos!

Earlier this month, I did my very first underwater photo shoot with photographer Vanessa Mills and veteran underwater model and good friend Ivory Flame (Holly), who coached me throughout and helped me achieve some great images, both with her and by myself! Underwater modelling is so addictive- maybe it's the intense physical challenge coupled with the gift of being able float like a fairy and pull poses that would be impossible on dry land- that I am already planning my next underwater project with Vanessa for October!

L-R: me and Holly adorned in gold jewellery. I imagine this as some sort of beautiful Sky Sylph floating down to visit her deep dark Water Sprite sister in the depths of her kingdom!

Starting small with a simple pose and practising exhaling in order to drop through the water instead of bobbing around the top like a cork!

I love the dramatic lighting in this one... it looks like we're floating up to Heaven :)

Racing towards the other me on the surface... there is such a sense of freedom in being underwater :)

L-R: me and Holly. I love that the white fabric has drifted into the shape of wings. It's like I've fallen in love with an angel and am trying to be taken with her.

It was very interesting for me to see the results of the shoot and notice that even underwater, Holly and I have our own distinctive "default" approaches to art nudes. Hers tend to be more classical, ethereal and soft; mine tend to be more hard, abstract, generally a mass of shadowy ribs and joints bent at right angles with a nipple here and there. Obviously we can each do the other style as well, but it's maybe an interesting reflection of our personalities, which style we instantly slip into :)

Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised at how similar our figures look in the photos- it's like we instinctively knew when to be different and when to gel. This was our first time shooting together, but I hope we get to do it again one day, perhaps even on land!

Land, Sea and Hair

I've been very busy since my last blog, but thought I would give myself a moment to settle down on the settee in my vintage satin robe and share a little of the last few days with you :)

I popped up to Scotland over the weekend for a shoot at Pavilion Studio in West Lothian, which is owned and run by photographer Barrie Spence. I've shot with Barrie before but this was the first time that I'd seen the studio and I was very impressed with it! It was warm, clean, well laid-out and well-equipped. I had three photo shoots in one day there (8 hours altogether) in great company, so it really was a very pleasant getaway! I will be able to share some of the photos, including Lady Lucie latex and Playful Promises lingerie, very soon, so subscribe to my blog now if you don't want to miss it (top right of this page)!

I watched about half of the Olympic opening ceremony with Barrie, his partner Fiona and shy Labrador Molly, and enjoyed it more than I expected! I even found the bit at the beginning with the suffragettes and soldiers very moving! It's easy for me to be cynical and forget just how much this country has evolved and contributed, considering how small it is. We became a non-slave-owning, atheist, openly gay, scientific, anti-fascist, artistically progressive culture with votes for women relatively early on and I like to think we are still progressing now!

It's a shame that they didn't make reference to important British scientists like Charles Darwin, or the UK's (relatively) thriving LGBT/ queer culture, but I suppose you can't have it all. You know that if I had been organising the event there would have been plenty more latex, 6" stiletto heels and fully fashioned seamed nylons! If you like those things too, then you'll love what I have in my Shop right now!!

Here is a brand new picture, as a reward for you if you actually read all that waffle up there ^

It was taken on the hot, sunny streets of Singapore last December by Singapore's leading photographic team, CaKe! We always shoot together at least twice when I visit Singapore and are already discussing our upcoming shoot this December!

Photographer and wardrobe stylist: Callan Tham @ CaKe! | Hair and makeup: Kenny Tan

On the theme of street fashion, I also have an outtake from a more recent shoot in Camden with my cat, Dexter! It was the first shoot where we've been officially booked to model together and my little boy did me proud! Can't you just tell that this photo was taken in England and not in Singapore?! In fairness though, it was taken at night!

This has got to be my most successful Mohawk to date! I got this new hairspray and it's like spray-superglue. It kicks the arse of both Elnette and Schwarzkopf, my preferred brands up to now!
Photographer: Donald Ogg | Styling: me! | Male model: Dexter ;) | Assistant: Jo

Little bit of nerdage: the alley we were shooting in is the very same one that Edgar Wright used to shoot the famous "fake gun fight" scene in Spaced. Conveniently, it also happens to be outside my favourite Camden pub, The Black Heart *nods*

Also this week was another first: my first underwater shoot! I was really lucky to get to do it with my model friend Ivory Flame (Holly), who is not only amazing at modelling in general but experienced in underwater modelling specifically, so she actually coached me through the whole thing, from emails before we even got there, to wrapping me up in towels at opportune moments and recommending breathing and relaxation techniques, to texting me after the shoot with further advice and encouragement

It was a very exciting day for me as the learning curve was so steep! Although I don't panic in water at all, the first few photos looked more like I was drowning or had just fallen into the pool and was having a laugh, rather than graceful and ethereal, but by the end of the day I was promptly counting myself in and dropping to the bottom of the pool to pull poses with Holly that would have been impossible on dry land!

I will share the photos when I have them, but for now, here is a little behind the scenes snap I took of Holly and the photographer testing the lights- underwater!

Underwater modelling is so addictive because of the physical challenge and your sudden ability to float! I hope I get to do more! I have tons of ideas, including being a mermaid and floating around in a long silk dress!

Let me know if there is anything that you would like to see me do underwater..!

Love and kisses,

Anita xxx

Swap Shop! Or TFS (Time For Stuff)!

Following up on my last blog re: attempting to minimise my buying of brand new things and trying to swap/ trade instead of using money where possible, I have compiled a list of things I am currently looking for for my home (I'm redecorating!). If you have anything on this list and would like to swap it for modelling time (if you are a photographer), items you might have seen in my photos, personalised gifts and signed memorabilia from my Shop, or anything else you think I might have, please let me know! You can leave a comment here or email contact@anitadebauch.com and we can get trading :D
  • Carpentry skills! Attaching a divan headboard to a bed it totally wasn't designed for :)
  • White ostrich feathers, up to 18" long
  • Silver flock wallpaper to cover a 3.6 m2 area
  • Silver blackout curtains
  • Three-part folding dressing table mirror
  • Silver velvet or chenille storage footstool/ pouffe
  • Silver satin valance sheet/ bed skirt, king size
  • Pair deco lady lamps, small-ish!
  • Blue Chinese palace lantern
  • Baby pink whistling kettle
  • 4 x baby pink pedal bins
  • B&Q 'Lemon Fizz' everywhere paint
  • B&Q 'Duck Egg' everywhere paint
  • Interior emulsion paint in a bold shade of blue
  • Taxidermy peacock (I can try!)
I think I will decorate this blog with a latex nuns photo by Chris Zietek from my recent trip to Casares, Spain, on the basis that lots of latex photos is a good thing, especially on days like today when it's a bit too hot to be wearing this much of it in comfort ;)

Second model: Anetta | Latex: either Honour or Westward Bound, I can't remember >.< | Makeup: models' own

I've got my first proper photo shoot with my cat, Dexter, tonight, that is, the first one that we've been officially booked together for. He has leapt in front of the camera unexpectedly once or twice at shoots, but that doesn't count ;) I was going to bring his sister, Lilith, as well, but she was really ill yesterday so I don't want to do anything to upset her. It'll just be me and Dexter modelling tonight!

So far I've manicured, cleansed, moisturised and conditioned us both, and now I need to sew part of my wardrobe. Then it'll be time for an afternoon snack (melon, I think!) followed by packing up Dexter's gear, then doing my hair, having a big salad followed by a veggie "omelette" for dinner, makeup, wardrobe, packing up my own gear and heading to Camden at 7.30 pm... for a 2 hour shoot! So much of it is in the prep!

Bye bye for now, and don't forget to leave a comment or mail me if you have something you'd like to trade!

Alice and the Wicked Queen

If you haven't already seen them on anitadebauch.com, here are the photos from last month's bridal fashion shoot for celebrity couturier Beyond Burlesque and ethical fur, feather and bone accessory designer Roadkill Couture.

Beyond Burlesque have dressed many of my modern day style icons, like Helena Bonham Carter and Dita Von Teese, and now they have dressed me twice!

There are a few extra pictures here that you won't have seen on my site!

 Second model: Jeli

Oh, and here's a photo I stole from Beyond Burlesque's website of Dita wearing one of their corsetted couture creations :)

You can see a slideshow of Beyond Burlesque's celebrity clients wearing their couture dresses here, including Helena, Gillian Anderson and more of Dita :)

Today is a day for staying home and not even getting dressed, I think, and maybe doing a little naked yoga. I am going to lounge in my new (to me) 1940s satin housecoat ALL DAY and I'm having dinner cooked for me :) I didn't get home from last night's avant-garde fashion show at the Torture Garden March Ball until 3.30 this morning, and while the other girls were drinking wine and partying backstage before the 1 am show, I was napping!

I have so many irons in the fire atm- shoots, shows, rewrites on my book, other upcoming projects and additions to anitadebauch.com that there just doesn't seem enough hours in the day to get everything done! I've been getting very tired, not least because I like to do or at least heavily oversee everything myself, so I can't really delegate jobs at all. I like everything to be not just perfect, but my kind of perfect, not an "I hired a slick commercial team to perfect this for me for maximum consumer consumption" sort of "perfect"! I think that it's what makes us unique that makes us interesting! :) I know that I prefer to take in the shows, photos and books of people who I think are really doing it in their own style, anyway.

In aid of my own beauty and energy levels, I recently read this book, on Dita's recommendation, funnily enough.

I'm easing into the detox plan slowly by implementing a few of the basic principles at a time, but I'm hoping it will still help to improve my energy levels and the quality of my skin and muscle tone. I'll let you know!! xo
