Spirit of the Woods by Emma Delves-Broughton

I love these new photos styled and photographed by legendary fetish photographer, Emma Delves-Broughton- they make me think of films like Legend and Willow!

Skincare provided by Bareskin Beauty :*

The stay-home horror marathon continues. On top of Ring, The Devil's Advocate, The Hunger, The Blair Witch Project, Poltergeist, and The Conjuring 2, I have also watched Lady in Black 2, Paranormal Activity, Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist this month! I think I might do a double bill of Nosferatu and Shadow of the Vampire tonight... my vegan pumpkin brownies are in the oven ready for the trick-or-treaters. They were a big hit last year :)

Happy Halloween!

Lips to die for and how to get them! Bare Skin Beauty Chamomile & Honey Lip Saver review. Or: Is it worth buying a £5 lip balm?

I get lots of questions about how to maintain photo-ready pin-up girl skin, and always say the main three things are:

  1. stop smoking
  2. start drinking a Glowing Green Smoothie for breakfast
  3. use natural skincare

Petroleum =/= beauty

Most of the stuff you get in the chemist or supermarket, whether it's the super cheap stuff or expensive designer brands, is pretty minging when you get right down to it. My eyes were opened when I learned that petroleum, which is the main ingredient in almost every commercial lip balm (just read the ingredients list!) attacks the natural collagen in your skin, speeding up the appearance of wrinkles! So I tried Burt's Bees lip balm, which uses beeswax as the base instead of petroleum. Over an admittedly fairly long period of months of using organic petroleum-free lip balm, I noticed that my lips looked smoother and fuller. I wasn't getting the ridges in my lipstick at photo shoots, or having it keep travelling upwards into those vertical lines that cross the upper lip line. This was a couple of years ago. Now I'm older, but my lips look younger :)

Designer vs Natural Skincare

Well, that got me interested in natural skincare as a whole! I'd always figured that something specifically engineered in a lab had to be more effective than something that occurred in nature. Now I think there are two problems with this seemingly reasonable hypothesis:

  1. We evolved within only natural environments, so it makes a kind of sense that we'd react better to natural ingredients than new/ modern ones.
  2. Just because something amazing could be engineered in a lab, doesn't always mean it actually has been. Massive corporations have motivation to keep costs down and profits up. If say, good advertising did more to sell products than their actual effectiveness, there's no question that more money would then be invested in the advertising than the product. It just makes good business sense. Ditto using cheap ingredients over quality ones.

Good lip balm is a bondage model's best friend!

I wear lip balm every day, re-applying regularly from when I first brush my teeth in the morning to when I go to bed at night. I like to let it soak in! Red lipstick doesn't look good over chapped lips! I keep lip balm in my handbag and like to use it as a lipstick base- it acts like a moist Polyfilla, making my lips look extra smooth, full and plump!

I've read advice from makeup artists saying you should use your makeup foundation as a lipstick base, but it just doesn't work the same!

Today I tried using Bare Skin Beauty Chamomile & Honey Lip Saver as a lipstick base at my bondage shoot. I know a lot of bondage models wear little or no makeup at bondage shoots, because it's a bit of a gamble- you naturally end up in some odd positions and if your makeup smears/ runs/ flakes/ otherwise goes awry, you don't have a free hand to fix it with! And end up with a bunch of crappy pictures. I can't bear being shot without my red lipstick unless it's really frigging necessary so I work on doing makeup that holds- I use a lip brush and lip liner, makeup fix spray and a waxy lip balm base for my lipstick. Today I actually forgot to use the fix spray, but still, my lipstick stayed looking like this:

Not bad, right?

Is Bare Skin Beauty Chamomile & Honey Lip Saver worth a fiver?

I upgraded from £1 or less ageing petroleum jelly horrortins from Superdrug to natural lip balms ages ago and after seeing the change in my lips, begrudgingly concluded that the price difference was worth it. But a full £5 for a pot of lip balm?

Now I actually have it, I wish I'd made the switch years ago- I would have actually saved money. A tiny, tiny amount of this stuff goes a really long way- I'm talking a micro-blob about the size of a third of a grain of rice that just melts and covers my whole lips! I really like to slather lip balm on too, to make my lips extra shiny. That's right, an application the size of half a grain of rice is more than enough! This one little jar I have is going to last me months, and I use a lot of lip balm!

Up until now I’ve been using organic natural lip balm from an eBay seller, which was okay but not as greasy- it pulled at my lips more during application, had little scratchy bits in it that I had to pick out o.O and ran out really fast. I like a really greasy lip balm that will make my lips feel lubricated and look glossy, as well as being really moisturising and softening.

Bare Skin Beauty Chamomile & Honey Lip Saver has a light herby taste that I quite like. Boyfy said he couldn’t taste the honey but my lips do indeed feel softer! I think there's going to be a jar in my mother's and grandmother's Christmas packages this year :) It should be extra useful for protecting against the upcoming months of biting winter winds.

I hope this blog helps anyone interested in raw, organic natural skincare and makeup that makes you look good in the long-term as well as immediately after you put them on :) Please feel free to use the comments section below to share your thoughts, esp. if you give Chamomile & Honey Lip Saver a try yourself!

Latex Fashion Photography

I had a look through a copy of Latex Fashion Photography by Miki Bunge and was delighted to catch sight of more than one photo of myself, nestled in among the world's biggest latex stars :)

(You may have already seen this one in Kinky Nature!)

p. 301

pp. 306 - 307

Today finds me shooting in Elgin, but my next latex shoot will be tomorrow in Glasgow with Ruthless Photography, then another shoot for HMS Latex with Artpunk on Tuesday. No rest for the wicked!

In the shower with Emma

Another photo from my shoot with Emma Delves-Broughton, this time a cute nude, because you can't wear latex all the time ;)

This was actually taken right at the end of the shoot after I'd changed out of the Peccatus Latex Couture I was modelling. It feels quite Bettie Page-ish to me! :)

I also really like this next one because it feels less "posed" and more like I might actually look while taking a shower and holding a conversation! I don't often get asked to do the "happy smiley natural girl" thing but it's quite nice to have photos like that sometimes :) Plus, it wouldn't be an Emma Delves-Broughton/ Anita De Bauch shoot without at least one gratuitous photo of my bum :p

Hair courtesy of Emma, makeup courtesy of yours truly ;)

My final available dates for November bookings in the UK and Europe are here, if anyone's interested! I've had plenty of interest so get in there quick if you'd like to book me (anitadebauch@hotmail.co.uk) ;p Now I'm off to gloat over my new Lady Lucie high-waisted latex leggings. They look so cute with my Lickorish Latex braces and Anatomic Bomb pasties xD

Get back to nature

Emma Delves-Broughton just mailed me our editorial publication in the October issue of Digital Camera, "the definitive guide to SLR photography" :)

The photo caption amused me for some reason:

Nude photography needn't be limited to the boudoir... outdoor settings can work extremely well, particularly if your model really gets into character

So yeah, when I model, I get really *into* it, lol.

Also, define "too chilly"! I've rolled around in a foot of snow with no clothes on to get the shot, baby!!! xD

Peccatus Latex Couture

Some photos from my latest shoot with the ever-fabulous Emma Delves-Broughton, wardrobe by Peccatus Latex Couture :)

The location was a gorgeous old house in the historic city of Bath, kindly offered to us by the lovely couple who live there.

 Yay fake hair! :D

Love how the flowers in the garden matched the dress

Looking forward to shooting for Peccatus again en France in December with Maxime Avet :) Their latex looks so delicate and elegant, I love it.

Festival of Sins

Had quite an entertaining night at Festival of Sins last night. I was working for Emma Delves-Broughton, who was there doing a book signing of Kinky Nature.

You can't quite tell in this photo, but I was wearing my new boots. They are surprisingly comfy and easy to walk in :D

My quest to find the Ultra Vixens doing their photo booth thing with Bizarre was unsuccessful, but then I was on the stall most of the time, which was a good vantage point for people-watching. FoS doesn't have a dress code that I'm aware of so there was an odd combination of people in head-to-toe latex and hoods, guys flat-out walking around with their cocks out and real "vanilla" looking dudes in jeans and trainers. Strange! The DJs were really good though :)

As predicted my face was plastered all over the inside of the club on various posters. I forgot to put the flash on when I snapped most of them so they didn't come out, but luckily this particular poster had a spotlight over it, so I got it!

I'm the one in the polka dot PJs and smeared lipstick :D The clock over Emma Tiger's crotch and the little wooden one in the middle foreground are from my kitchen and living room, respectively :p Photo by Team Binkertson

It was fun to see my other friends (and feel compelled to cup one of Nikki Sablier's amazing boobs for a photo. Sorry, Nikki) and eventually end up drinking wine and chatting away with Emma and Liam until 4 am before finally crashing out!

I'm also on the cover of the flyer for the next event (Sloth) on 11th December, so I took a snap of a couple of them this morning along with my pass from last night. Another one to add to my souvenir collection (I was nice and gave them the bit that goes around your neck back when I left) :)

Right now I am cooking a massive crispy aromatic duck that I marinaded myself in sugar and soy sauce. It smells sooo good! Just need to defrost some Chinese pancakes and slice up some cucumber and spring onions and I'm good to go for a major calorie-loading session :D

More photos of Jane Doe Latex and Naucler Design :)

Om nom nom :)

Just had a rather exciting email from the photographer, Seamus Costelloe, saying that we might be shooting in one of the European fashion capitals next year... I'll say no more for now in case I jinx it, but fingers crossed! Wish me bon chance!! ;)

In the meantime, I have yet more shiny photos of me running around in latex at Left Bank (loads of people have been asking me where the location is so I thought I'd blog it!) and Kilcooley Abbey :)

Victoria Murueva did the hair and makeup in the indoor ones and I did them for the outdoor ones :) Gloves by All You Need is Glves!

My last day of my little holiday was spent getting my legs waxed, visiting The National Portrait Gallery (the one of Isabella Blow's head was so clever!) and chatting with Jane Doe about the latex bikini and garter set I'm ordering :D I can't decide whether to get:
  • Midnight blue with white detail
  • Trans blue with lime green detail
HmmmmMMMMmmmmmMMMMMmmmmmmMMMMmmmmm!!!

Tomorrow I'm back to "work" with a fun job assisting Emma Delves-Broughton with her book signing at Festival of Sins. It'll be funny to see myself in the books as well as on the posters and flyers etc at the event, people won't be able to get away from me, poor bastards :p

Today's blog was brought to you by Bizarre, Emma Delves-Broughton and a cubey

A nice new model on Facebook let me know that my photo is in the slideshow header of the Bizarre Ultra Vixens' homepage. I'm glad Bizarre like this shot as much as I do! It's my favourite of all the material I shot for Emma Delves-Broughton's Kinky Nature :)

I was shooting with Emma again just yesterday at a beautiful old house in Bath for Peccatus Latex Couture, so I'm looking forward to seeing our latest work! The sweet couple who owned the house turned out to be "fans" and had copies of Kinky Nature for me to sign, which was flattering and sweet. In the spirit of getting stuff signed I asked Emma to sign my copy, too!

I'm not working tomorrow for what feels like the first time in ages so I'm up drinking red wine and listening to music with Liam :) When I saw the Ultra Vixens homepage I said to him, "do you remember reading Bizarre together when we were 14? It's so weird that I'm 'one of those girls' now" and he said, "you were always 'one of those girls'!", which is very sweet as I actually looked terrible every single day when we were in high school (greasy hair home-dyed green, train-track braces top and bottom, vile glasses, acne, no bust of any description, baggy men's clothing in an attempt to hide said non-bust, etc etc etc) <3

In the spirit of mild tipsiness-induced overshare I now have to go and do an interview for a new photography website. This could be amusing/ wrong/ regrettable :p

'Babes in the Wood', Bizarre magazine

I'm in the latest (August 2010) issue of Bizarre magazine in a double page feature on legendary fetish fashion photographer Emma Delves-Broughton's latest book, Kinky Nature, a sequel to the fetish classic Kinky Couture :) I totally recommend buying it, it's only £15 and full of shiny colour photos of pretty ladies playing in the woods!

I just got home from today's shoot (got some exciting news from it to report later!) and am too tired to walk to WH Smith to buy Bizarre, but fortunately the lovely Ruby True sent me this photo <3 Thank you!! :*

Trust me to be the one messing about in the top right corner! :p

My first ever paper publication was in Bizarre... it seems so long ago now! This latest article opens by describing Ulorin Vex and me as "sex bombs". Who are we to argue?? ;p

Plan for rest of day: drink tea, read The Wasp Factory and listen to the iTunes playlist Liam made me (just hearing the phrase "mix tape" makes me feel about 100 years old now!) :) :)

Fetish Fashion

It's 8.40 pm and I'm still in my dressing gown, hmmmmm. At least I got a ton of admin done today! I also have a couple of random new photos to share :)

This one from a recent shoot in London with a photographer over from Canada

You can't tell from the photo, but the heel on one of my ballet boots actually snapped when I was on location in Spain, so I can't stand up in them anymore, just do lying/ sitting/ crawling type poses. I've ordered these new ones that are more like shoes than boots- it's nice to have a little change :)

I also have a couple of new photos from Emma Delves-Broughton. We're planning on shooting again sometime this year, although we're not sure what yet. I'd really like to do some latex as that's what she's mostly famous for!

A new one from my shoot with Emma last year

And a better version of my favourite photo of me in Emma's new Kinky Nature book :)

I also have a couple of really cool photos back from another of the photographers I shot with in Ireland but I'm going to wait until I've got the full set till I post them, I'm a bit OCD like that ;) Plus one of them has to have the waist retouched because I'm so fecking toned from working out every single morning for the last four months that when I struck a hip-out pose loads of random muscles popped out all over my waist, creating huge dents, including that outer-sides-of-lower-belly muscle that male bodybuilders get. Gah! So now I should deliberately stop working out and let some of the muscle turn back into fat??

Anyone else sometimes get the feeling that it doesn't matter how fat, thin, toned or flabby you get, you will *never* actually be 100% happy with the way your body looks? >.<

/whinging. I might go and eat some cheese and watch QI now :)

EDIT 10 pm: turns out that if you drink strawberry tea while eating Danish blue cheese it makes your mouth taste exactly like vomit.

Kinky Nature

I am in Emma Delves-Broughton's latest book, Kinky Nature, a follow-up to the fetish classic Kinky Couture! Kinky Couture was slightly before my time modelling-wise, so I'm very honoured to have made it into Kinky Nature with no less than 13 full colour photos :)

I don't have anything as technologically advanced as a scanner so here are some snaps I took of a couple of the pages I'm on ;)

I don't remember that one in the bottom right but I really like it. Must remember to ask Emma for a proper copy :)

According to Emma the publishers really liked my butt and specifically requested we shoot more butt for the book. Hence the high prevalence of butt in my photos compared to the rest of the book.

And the greatest (read: nerdiest) honour of all has to be that one of my photos was chosen to be the 3D jobber on the last page. I really wish I owned a pair of 3D glasses now. I want to see my rubberized butt in 3D dagnabbit :p

Kinky Nature is published by Goliath and you can buy a copy on Amazon >here< It is actually a really nice book, I probably would have bought it even if I wasn't in it! The cover is padded so it feels all cuddly <3 <3 <3
