Cover of USA's Twisted Edge magazine- latex cat and mouse!

I'm on the cover of issue #20 of the USA's Twisted Edge magazine.

It came out a while ago but I've just been too busy to post about it, even though I'm thrilled!

Shooting/ organising shoots around the clock is also why the editorial is not accompanied by an interview with me- I was offered one but very sadly didn't have time to actually do it.

I just ordered a copy of the issue here so I can see what images they used :)

This is the cover and contents page:

The editorial was shot by one of my favourite photographers, Luci Alice, and fetish designer, Lady Allura's Latex. I did the hair and makeup :)

Yesterday was such a horrible grey day here in Somerset that I just stayed chained to my computer until I basically passed out at 11pm, slept 10 hours, and woke up to gorgeous sunshine! :D

Time for a trip to Glastonbury to buy my organic hair dye, get some beauty treatments and maybe treat myself to a natural lavender candle for my trip to Wales on Thursday (I'm free anywhere between Bristol and Bangor on Thursday, btw, if anyone wants to shoot). I'm shooting two full days and then spending two nights in hotels, so I think it would be good to just relax, read my books, write about my thoughts and maybe try and meditate during the evenings at the hotels. I love to light scented candles in my hotel rooms, it instantly makes them feel more luxurious and like home!

It seems I haven't really written anything except ads in my blog since 4 January, which is a bit crap, so here's a quick run-down of wtf I've been doing since then! I suspect most of it will be excuses for why I've not been updating very much...

  • deciding whether or not I can buy land in the countryside, build a log cabin on it, and live in it right now, or if it's something I need to wait a few years for,
  • had a kind of triple birthday celebration: Madame Bink came to visit the night before my birthday and we camped out in her van in Cheddar Gorge in the snow! What an experience! When we woke up in this incredible landscape in the morning, the sun was shining off the snow, the birds were singing and the wild goats were everywhere! The next night, I went to see Die Antwoord, then got driven back to Somerset for a private party at a hotel being thrown for me, which was a lovely surprise! I will really miss my friends in the Southwest if I ever have to move away!
  • completely sold-out, packed-out London Tour, that then got extended to London & the Southeast, then London, the Southeast and Hertfordshire, then London, the Southeast, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, then London, the Southeast, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and East Anglia, so I ended up being unexpectedly away from home for two very productive weeks of shooting dawn to dusk every day.
  • I got to see Roswell Ivory tons while touring and really felt like we bonded :) We had an awesome end to my tour by raving our arses off at Perou's party in London for the launch of the second issue of Edict magazine, and meeting some interesting people in our little industry like David Wood and Viktoria Modesta.
  • Back home in Somerset after the tour, I slept for 48 hours and then went to the White Spring Temple in Glastonbury for a belated Imbolc on 3 February. One corner of the temple is dedicated to Brigid, so it seemed the appropriate place to go!

  • Madame Bink visited us in Somerset on her way back to Cornwall after her January Tour, so we got to have a good gossip and put the world to rights before she headed on the next day ;)

My next big tour is in March, so if you are interested in shooting with me in or around Hertfordshire, Kent, London or anywhere between Bristol and London (Norfolk is now sold out), please email me at contact@anitadebauch.com asap. I can offer suggestions for local studios to shoot at at discounted prices.

PETA is looking to work with me again, so hopefully I will be in London towards the end of next week (27 February - 1 March), if anyone would like to shoot while I'm there.

Much love, and I hope you are all enjoying the winter sun!

Jane Doe Latex at Torture Garden Fetish Ball & my 1st TG, age 18!

Who knew that clicking the 'Drafts' tag in my blog dashboard would reveal a bunch of pictures that never got posted? It's obviously where I started writing a blog, got distracted, saved it, and then forgotten about it. I even had to check my CV (also horribly out of date, I've had at least one new cover) to find out when they were from!

So! Welcome to some backstage pics from Torture Garden last year, where I actually did two shows; the first was in January/ February (not sure >.<) for Jane Doe Latex, one of the very best designers out there, wardrobe creator to many celebrities including Marilyn Manson and one of my very favourites! I have modelled for the Jane Doe online catalogue many times but this was my first live show with them :)

Backstage with Nina Kate, the designer :) Her tattoos are amazing!

I wore these shoes to do runway *nods*

Me in my latex ensemble for the show. I like this photo because I look like a boy :)

A bit of self-stalking on MySpace (remember MySpace?) also uncovered this little gem- a photo taken at my first TG, indeed my first fetish party, when I was 18! I still remember, it was the NYE Ball and Liam and I had been together nearly a year (we just celebrated our 9th anniversary last month)!

Yes, that's me with the big pink dreads. I wasn't modelling at this stage, but you can see that I was already into corsets! I made hair extensions like these ones for a living and was in my first year of a Psychology degree. Don't remember who the lady on the left was!

I believe the photographer was called Bobette, because when I did start modelling and had no pictures for my portfolio, I tracked him down and emailed him to ask if I could use the photos he took of me in the nightclub! Would you believe it? He was very kind though, and let me use them and wished me luck, but I imagine he was just thinking, "... really?" :p Oh well, I got some good photos in the end, didn't I??

The lunatics have taken over the asylum

If you came to the Torture Garden March Ball on Saturday night, you probably saw me walking for One Eyed Designs at the 1 am fashion show, although you wouldn't have recognised me in my bubonic latex Georgian asylum inmate costume!

Me and Mamzelle Maz backstage

The theme of the show was nighttime in an early 18th century madhouse, when the "screws" have left and the inmates take over, enjoying the only time they have to let loose and revel in their uniqueness, their hideous deformities and weeping sores, which they proudly parade in their own beauty show! Said sores were beautifully handcrafted as part of the clothing from coloured latex, of course!

The inmates- us models- had a whale of a time! I just knew I was going to laugh at some point so I incorporated a hissing, gibbering giggle into my character so I could let it out in bursts! I think Ruby stole the show as an inmate who thought she was a doll, though!

L-R: Cervena Fox, Alex, Maz, Ruby, me, Leah Debrincat, Lady Lucie

It was certainly novel and really quite liberating for the designer, Brett, to ask us to be as freaky, malformed and pestilent as possible on the catwalk!! Right after the show, Brett asked me to walk for her again at London Alternative Fashion Week. I said yes, of course! I'd better remember to snap out of "inmate" mode in time!!

L-R: me, Bron and Lucie (being a model instead of a designer, for a change!) after the show. I found it worryingly easy to stay in drooling maniac mode. Luckily, it wore off on the way home ;)

See you at London Alternative Fashion Week! I'm walking for One Eyed Designs on the Thursday! The show starts at 1.15 pm and it's free entry, so get there early to get a good view of the runway! I'll be posing for photos for a little while after the show, so feel free to come and have a picture taken with me :) It'll be fun!

Alice and the Wicked Queen

If you haven't already seen them on anitadebauch.com, here are the photos from last month's bridal fashion shoot for celebrity couturier Beyond Burlesque and ethical fur, feather and bone accessory designer Roadkill Couture.

Beyond Burlesque have dressed many of my modern day style icons, like Helena Bonham Carter and Dita Von Teese, and now they have dressed me twice!

There are a few extra pictures here that you won't have seen on my site!

 Second model: Jeli

Oh, and here's a photo I stole from Beyond Burlesque's website of Dita wearing one of their corsetted couture creations :)

You can see a slideshow of Beyond Burlesque's celebrity clients wearing their couture dresses here, including Helena, Gillian Anderson and more of Dita :)

Today is a day for staying home and not even getting dressed, I think, and maybe doing a little naked yoga. I am going to lounge in my new (to me) 1940s satin housecoat ALL DAY and I'm having dinner cooked for me :) I didn't get home from last night's avant-garde fashion show at the Torture Garden March Ball until 3.30 this morning, and while the other girls were drinking wine and partying backstage before the 1 am show, I was napping!

I have so many irons in the fire atm- shoots, shows, rewrites on my book, other upcoming projects and additions to anitadebauch.com that there just doesn't seem enough hours in the day to get everything done! I've been getting very tired, not least because I like to do or at least heavily oversee everything myself, so I can't really delegate jobs at all. I like everything to be not just perfect, but my kind of perfect, not an "I hired a slick commercial team to perfect this for me for maximum consumer consumption" sort of "perfect"! I think that it's what makes us unique that makes us interesting! :) I know that I prefer to take in the shows, photos and books of people who I think are really doing it in their own style, anyway.

In aid of my own beauty and energy levels, I recently read this book, on Dita's recommendation, funnily enough.

I'm easing into the detox plan slowly by implementing a few of the basic principles at a time, but I'm hoping it will still help to improve my energy levels and the quality of my skin and muscle tone. I'll let you know!! xo

Beyond Burlesque & Roadkill Couture Photo Shoot Teaser!

I did a beautiful couture fashion shoot for designer to the stars Beyond Burlesque in an enchanted snowy wood last month <3 The designer, Belinda, used to design for Vivienne Westwood until she created her own label :) The clothing and location were just magical, as were the ethical fur, feather and bone accessories by Roadkill Couture! It was a wonderful shoot with wonderful people who really knew their craft.

I will be posting the photos properly soon, but for now I'm here to tease, tease, tease with a snap I took of one of the prints!
Photographer: David Angel | Hair and makeup: me!

Btw, does each blog I post come up with a location of where I am? I've been adding a location every time I post for months but if no-one can see it, it's a bit pointless!

Anyway, my location tonight will be the Torture Garden March Ball, where I will be walking in a big latex fashion show for One Eyed Designs at 1 am! Come along and enjoy the shininess and De Bauchery with us! xoxo

Latex and Lingerie in London!

Anyone going to join me at the Torture Garden March Ball in London on 10th March? I'll be there doing a runway show for a hot new latex designer called One Eyed. I met Brett, the designer, in the Big Red the other night and we spent the whole night chatting non-stop before we realised who each other were and she asked me to be in her show! It's great when you meet a designer that you just "click" with and I'm looking forward to wearing her rubber!

You won't believe it, but I went to yet another designer lingerie sample sale yesterday, 24 hours after my trip to Coco de Mer that I mentioned in my last blog! This time it was at Playful Promises' old shop in Soho. They are relocating to Shoreditch and were selling some of their pieces at a 70% discount! You can bet that I filled my 5" heel boots! Some of my Playful Promises and Coco de Mer lingerie is actually going to end up on eBay- I got some really nice pieces and am happy to pass my bargains on to other appreciative people!

I have so much lingerie, I never actually need to do laundry as I always an abundance of fresh drawers in my drawers! I could probably go a whole year without washing my knickers, if you know what I mean. Maybe even two! Some of the really top retro lingerie companies actually pay me in lingerie instead of cash! They know my weakness! After all, money is fleeting but glamour is forever!

I received this 1940s style silk blouse as part of my payment for the runway show I did for Playful Promises earlier this month. I had a great time shooting it in my room at London's iconically luxurious Savoy Hotel with Aneil Sharma earlier this month! I did all the styling, of course :)

Now I'm going to have New Covent Garden Co's Autumn Gold soup for dinner, which is probably my favourite of theirs so far, then take a relaxing candlelit bubble bath with The Seven Addictions and Five Professions of Anita Berber. I don't know how many times I have read it but I need to refresh my memory as part of my research for a shoot next week where I'll be "playing" her. I'm doing all the styling and I'm really excited about it! I'll post the photos here, of course :)
