No red lipstick?! *faints*

Here are some new beauty shots from my photo shoot with Adam Robertson this January. I normally can't stand being photographed without my red lipstick, but I have been shooting with Adam more or less since I started modelling so he is one of the very few I trust enough to let go of my lipstick security blanket for a few shots ;) Skincare by Bareskin Beauty.

AmsterDAMN

I really should blog about my trip to Amsterdam as it was so much fun... but as well as being kind of blurry on the details, I am really busy renovating this new house of house of mine... so just pictures by Studio VC shot in my suite in Amsterdam for now :)

I'll post the rest in my next blog. I'm also planning on writing a blog with some little tips on buying your first house, as it was a long drawn-out nightmare for us and it would be great to just drop a little list of tips and contact numbers that others could use to get the ball rolling and hopefully not be put off trying to buy at all. It is much harder now than it was for our parents' generation, but still just about possible for some. It would have been handy for me to have had a blog with practical info for UK people all in one place, that's for sure.

Back to the photos- forgot to say I did all the styling myself- I'm just wearing my own clothes and jewellery, with Bareskin Beauty skincare and Mya Minerals makeup :)

Ghosts

Welcome to October, home of my favourite holiday!

Photographer: Trasky | Skincare: Bareskin Beauty | Cosmetics: Mya Minerals

If, like me, you are still musing over a suitable costume, follow me on Instagram, where I am posting all sorts of inspiration from the glamorous and often rather strange photo shoots of the 1920s, 30s and 40s.

I leave you with a bonus shot of when the fabric blew away ;)

General waffle/ procrastination + butt (NSFW)

I seem to be in a permanent state of excitement/ over-stimulation with so many upcoming trips and projects atm, that I constantly feel that I hardly know what to do with myself! Part of it is nerves. e.g. "Will this damn house come through?" We are tantalisingly close to exchanging now and I can't bear the thought of it all falling through again- but I just have to be patient and wait and see! Patience is not my strong point. If something needs doing, I like to go ahead and get it done! Having something drag on for months with endless email tennis does not come naturally to me :(

I'm going to be finishing 2016 by travelling round Ireland and continental Europe, starting on 1 September and finishing in December! :) Although I've technically been to a couple of the places before, there will still be new experiences waiting for me there- e.g. I have visited Milan a couple of times, both for shooting and on holiday, but never during Fashion Week, so that will be a first (although I have walked at London Fashion Week and been invited to sit in the second row with SHOWstudio at Singapore Fashion Week, which was great). Other places I'll be going to, like Amsterdam, are completely new to me :) I'm taking care to reserve a couple of days here and there at the more interesting places to be a tourist and visit the sights I might never have got to see if it weren't for modelling.

Speaking of modelling... here are some new photos shot in natural light by Tim Bircher :) Many thanks to Bareskin Beauty for the organic skincare and Mya Minerals for the vegan cosmetics used for this shoot.

Jobs for today: dye hair, call estate agent, make a last-minute mani-pedi appointment, various online check-ins, give Dexter a bath and figure out what I need to bring with me to Ireland for a two-week trip... probably not all that much as I think everyone wants to shoot nudes.

New art nude, the lovely bones

I love thoughtful, slightly abstract art nude work that encourages you to see the human body with a different perspective than you might normally. Case in point: this beautiful exhibition image by Ian Farrell. I really enjoyed working with Ian and hope to do more with him soon.

Skincare by Bareskin Beauty

Today is a "beauty day" in preparation for near-constant touring between now and Christmas. For any photographer who might read my blog and would like to work with me, these are the only dates I have left available this year. Next year is looking pretty rammed right up until April, too, so I'd advise grabbing one of these dates if you possibly can:

  1. Wednesday 9 December- Cambridgeshire- full day available
  2. Saturday 12 December, 3.20 - 6.20pm @ Art Asylum Studio, Weymouth, Dorset, £150 all-inclusive
  3. Sunday 13 December, morning only- anywhere between Plymouth and Perranporth, Devon/ Cornwall
That's it!

Now it's time to get a full body wax, a vintage half-moon manicure for the Hollywood Glamour workshop I'm modelling for tomorrow, dye my hair, and put on a lovely green Bareskin Beauty face mask while I pack my new hot pink Diane Von Furstenberg suitcase with extra props and goodies ^_^

I might also make some of this stuff today, if I have time; it looks divine, and I'm sure the photographers at the workshop wouldn't mind testing it for me :)

Obscurae magazine beauty editorial

'Black Water' beauty editorial shot by Phine Ka in high fashion magazine Obscurae, November '15 issue. Skincare by Bareskin Beauty, makeup by Mya Minerals :)

This shoot was right at the end of a tour and I was so tired I nearly drowned in the tub :p

Lovely Mr & Mrs Phine Ka took me out for a huge huge mushroom burger and French fries afterwards (sorry, Juliette) at one of those Gourmet Burger Kitchen-type places.

I love making art with my friends.

And eating fries.

Nude portrait

I love this simple, characterful black and white nude portrait shot in the studio with photofervor earlier this month. What a great photographer! I just did the hair, makeup and skincare, using Bareskin Beauty and Mya Minerals.

I'm super happy today because the buildings survey on our first house came back positive, so even though it's old, it's in good shape and we can definitely move in once all the legal stuff is done! I can't wait to get in there and decorate ^_^ I'm thinking maybe a sensual Chinoiserie Deco boudoir and drooling over various wallpapers, like this one:

This would look so gorgeous with a walnut headboard and silk sheets!

Bath night!

I'm on tour round Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Nottingham and Bristol atm, so Friday was spent prepping for 8-9 days of shooting:

  • Full body wax (ow, but worth it!)
  • Mani/ pedi (my favourite part)
  • Dyeing hair
  • Shaping eyebrows
  • Working out hard all this week! Lots of yoga, Pilates and tai chi :)
  • Laundry
  • Cleaning makeup brushes
  • Getting the car valeted (I'm in it a LOT)
  • Booking hotel rooms
  • Packing
  • Buying bunny slippers (most important)
  • Going on a date :)

This photo was taken by lovely Glenn Cockerill at a beautiful C13th stately manor here in Somerset last month :) I did the hair and makeup using Bareskin Beauty skincare and Mya Minerals makeup.

My slippers and I are currently staying with my good friend Ivory Flame in Leicester. We watched The Conjuring last night after a nice little Lunar Samhain dinner and both ended up hiding under the duvet, screaming. The soup was great, though.

Castle in the clouds complete with Prince Charming? Check!

Great news! Boyfy and I put in an offer on our first house, and it was accepted! It was the one I mentioned at the end of my last blog that has a huge old fireplace, library, courtyard and dungeon :D

(Apologies if you already know this from my InstagramTwitter!)

It's an apartment in a massive Georgian house in the country. We knew it was ours the moment we clapped eyes on it! Thank you so much to everyone who has booked me over the last two years- it was entirely your constant support that funded my half of the deposit :) As far as I'm aware, I'm one of maybe four art nude models in the whole country who's managed to buy a place purely with modelling money... baby-boomer photographers proclaiming that models over-charge, take note ;)

There is a chance we might be able to move in to our first home by Christmas! :) Visualise this fireplace decorated with fir tree branches, holly and candles if you will (I am!) with deer antlers above and a live tree covered in tiny gold fairy lights in the corner :D

CGI by anonymous local artist :p Those are my cats, btw.

I love old buildings; they instantly make me feel at home. They almost seem alive and with their own personalities that they've accumulated over time. Here is a shot from a recent shoot with one of my favourite photographers in one of my favourite locations, The Pit Studio in Nottingham, a massive Victorian Gothic set of high-ceilinged rooms with big windows and an air of beauty in decay. I will try and do a studio day there on 17 October @ £50ph, if any photographers reading this are interested :)

Photographer: Rob Ellis.

I am having a wonderful time writing to do and to buy lists for the new house... I should really get my head back in the game and get on with booking tours for October and November!

One Man and His Model

Hello to everyone coming over from Facebook and Instagram to see the uncensored tearsheet! I'm the main image in Tim Pile's art nude photography editorial in Good Light magazine, from back when I had two-tone orange hair :)

I love shooting artistic nudes in natural light, whether it's the soft pink of dawn, what I call "Nature's Hollywood lighting" at midday, the giant softbox effect of an overcast afternoon, or the warm golden evening light, right before the sun sets. I'm really happy that my Somerset Photographic Tours have proved so popular and I've been able to do so much location work already this summer :)

I had 2.5 hours of yoga and Pilates lessons yesterday morning, followed by lunch at my favourite arthouse café in Cheddar, Café Sketch. They do yummy, healthy vegan options. I have so much energy today that I'm not sure what to channel it into! It's lucky I'm at a festival this weekend, I'm perfectly in the mood for a big all-night party with friends! :D

Androgyne

I'm off to my yoga class. I'll just leave this new nude photo shot by KJT here :)

Thank you Bareskin Beauty for providing the raw organic skincare for this shoot! It really helps a girl feel confident in her skin :)

Fairy Cave

This blog is brought to you by the in-room wifi at an old-style luxurious Victorian manor I'm staying at in Surrey. I had a great shoot with one of my favourite photographers today, followed by an interview in my hotel room for KFS TV, followed by a three-course solo dinner- as I was absolutely starved by 5pm!

Here are a couple of photos by Rlux from a recent shoot in a cave in Somerset! I came back the following day with a torch to explore it further :D

I love the way the seams in the rock behind me have given me fairy wings.

Two shoots in London tomorrow: the first, me showing a photographer round some of my old London locations, and the second in the studio, which is also being filmed for TV. Then a girls-only dinner with my friends Roswell Ivory and Luci Alice

Right now I'm relaxing with a Bareskin Beauty clay face mask while drawing a candlelit bath in my hotel room. If you haven't already seen it, I explain how I keep my skin clear and healthy while travelling in this video :)

Facebook and Instagram are also great places to keep up with me- they're quicker to update than my blog if I get a quick patch of phone signal between shoots! If you have any questions about modelling, either as an experienced model or as someone just thinking about giving modelling a try, please read this first (available worldwide through various websites)- it's £12.99 well invested as it will save you sooo much time, money and misdirected effort!

Lots of love,

 Anita

New photos from my last Asian Tour

New photos shot by lovely photographer Geoffrey Pereira in Singapore during my 2014 Asian Tour :)

First up, me modelling nothing but the $1 sunglasses I bought in the market after I managed to break the £90 pair I brought with me. Skincare by Bareskin Beauty.

Lingerie by Playful Promises, shoes by Fabulously Fetish. Apologies if you already saw this one on Facebook!
Leather jacket my own, ended up in the bin after being eaten by extreme high humidity in the Malaysian jungle later in the trip. Oh well!

Back from a last-minute weekend in London modelling for four Olympus workshops and a beauty magazine editorial. I left the house at 4.30 on Saturday morning and arrived home precisely 48 hours later at 4.30 this morning, having stopped at three sets of services on the way back for an hour of sleep here, an hour of sleep there, and finally, when that didn't work, a 3am stop-off for caramel soy cappuccino, brushing and flossing of teeth and a DIY Bareskin Beauty exfoliating facial in the toilets at the last motorway services. I'm very tired today, but at least my skin is glowing!

Here's a clearer shot of those $1 sunglasses, 'cos I know you're dying to see them.

Dentist appointment first thing tomorrow, followed by seventeen full days of shooting in a row in Somerset, Kent, the Isle of Wight, London, Milton Keynes and Norfolk. Woooooo!!! So close to having the deposit for my dream house now ^_^

5.45pm EDIT: I forgot to say, if you are a freelance model like me, or interested in becoming one, and would like my book on how I do it, the posh hardback version is on special offer on Amazon UK atm, reduced from £26.99 to £16.89 + free P&P :)
