Review of The "Ugly" Girl's Guide to Modelling on Indiebration.com

There is a great review of my book on how to model without an agency, The "Ugly" Girl's Guide to Modelling, on Indiebration.com, where it is currently one of the Editor's Picks!

I was really pleased that the reviewer, Rick Hudson, noticed the time and effort that was put into the book's presentation; I always wanted it to be a beautiful piece in itself that would look good on a shelf or strewn around a lounge coffee table or tossed on the silk duvet of a boudoir. Practical AND stylish, that's what I like!

I was also happy that Rick highlighted The "Ugly" Girl's Guide to Modelling's total frankness. I don't beat about the bush, make things up to make myself look good or give daft or obvious advice that anyone could find repeated dozens of times online already. I wanted the book to be an honest and well-informed voice, over everything else, and actually useful in giving girls who read it the edge- both people at the very very start, starting from nothing, like I did, and people who are much further along, making a full-time living from freelance modelling but kind of wanting to take it to the next level now. That's who my book is for :)

>>Order your copy of The "Ugly" Girl's Guide to Modelling here. It's only £12.99.<<

Tenebrous magazine, April 2015

I have not one, not two, but THREE DOUBLE-PAGE SPREADS in this month's issue of Tenebrous magazine, in a Libidex latex fashion editorial shot on location by Magpie Tommy :)

Not bad, considering we did the whole shoot in about ten minutes flat! It was February, at night, in Norfolk... so cold, I actually went jogging while the equipment was being set up! Luckily, my skin didn't dry out. Go go Bareskin Beauty moisturisers!

In unrelated news, I'm listing a few things on eBay, so feel free to look through them and add me to your watch list- there's more to follow.

I bring you...

I had my first lie-in in I don't know how long this morning, until the heady hour of 10.30am, when my fuzzy alarm clock (Lilith) woke me up, demanding breakfast. I feel so rejuvenated!

And I wake to find this in my inbox from photographer Tim Pile :) Apologies if you already saw it on Twitter this morning!

I can't really be bothered to give myself a hair and makeup credit for this as I didn't really do anything, but my skincare was provided by Bareskin Beauty.

I loved this spectacular hand-carved fireplace!

For any photographers reading this, I am doing an Art Nude Studio Day at Lux Studio in Kent on Saturday 23 May, at a special all-inclusive rate of £50ph (me + studio + equipment + parking). Please email me at contact@anitadebauch.com if you would like to discuss.

I'm off for a hike in the Somerset countryside! These Somerset Photographic Tours are really feeding my love and appreciation for this beautiful natural area.

Golden Age of Hollywood with Andrew McMeekin

Super happy to share these Golden Age of Hollywood shots from my shoot with the multi-talented Andrew McMeekin during my last Norfolk Tour. He did the photography and my hair and the wardrobe styling!

The first one feels perfectly early 1930s to me:

Then I got my flapper on for a more early 20s look (before the hemlines went up in earnest)!:

I had a great Somerset Photographic Tour today, as you might have seen from my FacebookTwitter and Instagram. We were utterly blessed with the weather, it was just spectacular! The photographer, David, said it felt like being on holiday, which was music to my ears as that's exactly how I like my Somerset Photographic Tours to feel- like a fun, indulgent day trip to the country where you also get to take lots of great photos at great locations with a professional model. And hopefully work on your tan :)

If you're a photographer more interested in creating studio images like the ones above, please email contact@anitadebauch.com today about my bargain Lux Studio Day in Kent on Saturday 23 May- it's £50ph all-inclusive of me and the studio, with bookings of 2-8 hours available, so don't miss out!

Rebel Circus

I have a new interview in the USA's Rebel Circus :)

They asked me some more interesting questions than the standard "how did you get into modelling" (although they did ask that too), "what was your best/worst shoot", "we copy and paste the same old questions to everyone we interview without researching the interviewee first" type ones. Lol! You can read it here.

The layout was a Kaori's Latex Dreams editorial shot by lovely Luci Alice, with Bareskin Beauty skincare. Here are the photos:

The last one didn't make it into the layout for some reason ;)

Happy Easter weekend, everyone!

I thought these beautiful artistic nudes shot by the talented Tim Pile last month could vaguely be connected with Easter eggs/ chicks...

Click the images ^ to see larger versions :D

I'm so so happy with the above image ^_^ It's just the sort of thing I aspired to do when I started wanting to shoot classical art nude work, maybe a year or so after I started modelling. I think I was 21 when I did my first nude shoots.

Here is another from the same shoot, shot indoors, where it was a bit warmer. Bareskin Beauty took care of all my skincare for this shoot, btw.

I hope you all get to do plenty of this ^ this weekend :D The house is somehow awash with hot cross buns, milk chocolate and Easter biscuits. I'm going to try baking this cake at some point :) If it goes well, I might make it again with a shot of spiced rum or some alternative that's fermented rather than brewed for my boyfriend's birthday next month. Sherry, maybe?

Bareskin Beauty's Inner Beauty Daily Detox: edible skin miracle?

I find that I can't have great skin without a great diet, no matter what face cream I use. I'm a believer in moderate amounts of daily detoxing, such as starting the day with hot water and freshly squeezed lemon juice, drinking homemade smoothies, avoiding cow's milk, and eating more fresh fruits and vegetables in general, as well as taking a couple of good quality probiotics. I don't do extreme "cleanses" or "fasts" or anything like that, but I've seen the improvements in my skin and figure over the last three years, when I actually exercised less but made my diet much more natural and centred around yummy and filling natural whole foods :D

My breakfast waiting to be blended!

Bareskin Beauty's Inner Beauty Daily Detox is a new product from the raw organic skincare company that you actually eat, rather than spread onto your skin! This no-nonsense approach really resonated with me, so I had to try it. This is what the pack looks like when it's 2/3 empty because I already ate it all.

The Inner Beauty Daily Detox is a blend of naturally detoxifying powders that you just add to your smoothies or nut/hemp/whatever milk, so it's probably the easiest thing to add into your daily routine as there just isn't any prepping involved. And it turns a funky blue colour when you add it to water :D

I have two pints of green smoothie for breakfast most days and added two teaspoons of Inner Beauty Daily Detox powder to it for a month, which didn't change the taste or texture at all, but it did improve the colour! That touch of blue takes away any yellow-ishness, and makes the Glowing Green Smoothie really GLOW! My smoothies now look like the photos you see on the internet ;D

Bareskin Beauty have blended Latvian blue clay, green illite clay, diatomaceous earth, zeolite and chlorella together to make Inner Beauty Daily Detox powder. The brand is run by my personal nutritionist (which is how I came across this stuff in the first place), Juliette Scarfe, who I trust, but still, I was like, clay? Earth? Wtf is zeolite? Are these really things I can eat? The only one I'd heard of already was chlorella, which I take in tablet form when I'm travelling around very polluted cities- I've noticed my skin doesn't seem to freak out as badly in cities like Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur when I'm taking chlorella. It turns out that zeolite is another form of mineral-rich algae.

Anyway, I think this rich mineral blend in Inner Beauty Daily Detox powder must be what gives it its power. I certainly noticed the cleansing effect after just two or three days, and over the course of the month, the texture of my skin has improved. How wonderful! Photographers (plural!) have even commented on how my skin seems to "glow" atm :D It's great to get a result like this from doing something so natural and easy as just adding a pure powder to a smoothie. The packaging itself specifically says "Daily detoxing brings beauty benefits: cleansing your body purifies the complexion to leave skin clear and radiant."

Sorry if you already saw this on Instagram, but cue makeup-free (although wildly over-exposed) selfie:

I'm not sure when Inner Beauty Daily Detox powder will become available to order on www.bareskin-beauty.co.uk, but I do recommend buying it when it comes out and simply adding one or two teaspoons to your daily routine. Health cheats for the win!

The blooper reel! Out-takes and snatched snaps. Happy April Fool's Day!

Happy Wednesday!

Despite an awful start to the day with a photographer cancelling a full day last-minute and refusing to pay, I'm reading a new book, The Beauty Detox Power, and have just finished my Glowing Green Smoothie, so feeling pretty zenned-out and ready to post some April Fools-related photos from my shoots to cheer myself up!

All of these are outtakes, lighting tests, and so on, not the photos that usually get to see the light of day ;) I think it's fun to share pictures like this sometimes!

Me and Chloe-Jasmine Whichello at a shoot for Beyond Burlesque, which ended up in a British Vogue bridal advertorial (not this shot, though!)

Me "assisting" Stephen Perry at Twiggy's shoot for Who Do You Think You Are? I was absolutely thrilled when she pulled me in for this shot!

Out-take of me chatting to Adam Robertson, the photographer, during this fun lingerie/ glamour shoot. Even though it's not really a "modelling" shot, I like this photo as I think it looks much more like I'd probably look if I was just hanging out with my boyfriend, rather than posing and trying to "look good for the camera".

Me wittering to Dita Von Teese at top speed when I met her at Bloomingdale's in New York.
Photo by David Prutting/ BFA Photo.

Me pulling faces during a lighting test at my shoot for Kaori's Latex Dreams with Luci Alice last month. I posted a "proper" photo from this shoot on Facebook today.

Shooting a cover and editorial for Spain's BeDeSeMe magazine with Luci Alice at my London apartment, when Dexter decided to photo bomb us!

At a Fabulously Fetish shoe fitting with Lady Allura. I'm not actually sure who took this picture!

Have a great day :)
