Happy Halloween!

As promised, some pics for those of us not out partying tonight ;) I had a look through the cache of photos on my hard drive and couldn't find any obviously Halloween-related ones, like me dressed up as a witch or a devil or something, so my theme for this photo blog is "slightly spooky-looking photos I have shot with other models." If only I could think of a catchier title :p

This first one's an oldie from February 2010 by Adam Robertson, featuring Madame Bink. I think this was the first time Binky and I shot together... I believe we also shot the promo material for a fetish party called Festival of Sins at the same time.

This one is from my first shoot with Ivory Flame, which was also my first shoot underwater! There were two lights, one on each side, that were both supposed to fire to get an evenly lit picture, but in this particular shot, only the one on the left went off. I actually really like the dramatic effect this had :)

This is another old one, from so long ago that I don't even know what year it was! Maybe 2008? It was shot with Ulorin Vex by Gregory Brown in a crumbling insane asylum called Hellingly, which has since been demolished.

I was shooting in Spain this year with photographer Chris Zietek and his wife, Anetta. We love costumes, so I think a couple of our shots can be included in a Halloween blog :)

And a slightly more recent one of Binky and me by RHM Photographic to finish, from summer 2011 when I had short hair after a run of hair modelling jobs where it got cut/ shaved progressively shorter! Everyone calls this the "giddy up" shot!

Great shoot today! We got some great latex shots and I baked these Halloween cupcakes for the photographer and me to have with our teas :) I used brown sugar, sunflower marge, wholemeal flour and a lot of organic apricots to sweeten them, so not tooo unhealthy, I suppose... they certainly were yummy, anyway, which is the important thing!

My only other nod in the direction of Halloween this year (except writing this blog) is that I'm going to see Suspiria at The Phoenix tonight :D

It's a 70s film about a ballet school run by witches and the cinema is the oldest in Britain with original 1930s interiors, so it should be really atmospheric and cool :) Time to break out the big eyeshadow and lipstick, if ever there was one!

Well, okay, this isn't what I'm going to wear to the cinema, it's one of the latex outfits I wore at today's shoot (thanks for the Westward Bound top, Roswell!). I'm not sure how the general public would react if I went about my daily business encased head-to-toe in skintight latex. Perhaps that's a theme for another photo shoot! But anyway, this is the makeup I'm wearing tonight.

Happy Halloween!

Dark love and vampire kisses,

Latex Heaven feat. Pandora Deluxe Latex and musings on "Glamour"

The shiny sexy photos and videos from my first shoot for Latex Heaven are now available to download! I notice that my set is sat next to my friend Katy's, which is a nice coincidence. You should check her pictures out too. She is just as beautiful in real life, believe me!

I can give you a free preview of the photos here! I was dressed by Pandora Deluxe and photographed by Paul Cox :)

It felt strange to be wearing the makeup artist's interpretation of glamour makeup, which these days seems to mostly involve beige lip gloss, although I do love the smoky eyes!

Just yesterday, Binky asked me to describe what sort of model I am in one word. It was tricky! I felt like I should say "alternative", but that rather conjures up images of a real punk rock girl with lots of tattoos, piercings, purple hair and motorcycle boots. I don't have any body modifications of any kind except ear piercings, and you know how I love my 6" stiletto heels!

I privately think of myself as a glamour model, but with my own definition of the word "glamour"! I don't usually publicly refer to myself as a glamour model as most people these days seem to associate "glamour" with blonde hair extensions, fake tan and sticky beige lip gloss!

"Glamour" is another word for magic charms and illusions- whipping up love spells with makeup, lingerie and role-playing! My favourite glamour models are women like Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Dita Von Teese, Lili St Cyr and even rockstars like David Bowie and Marilyn Manson! For me, glamour is all about showmanship- creating a 24/7, three-dimensional show comprising of photos, videos, stage shows and writings centred around an intriguing personality that people just have to look at!

Maybe I should start calling myself a method model!

Lots of love, Anita xx

Anita De Bauch vs. Stephen Perry

Here is that raincoat photo I promised you!

I had some excitement earlier this month when I was shooting all day with the great Stephen Perry on location in Folkestone. I felt like we really "clicked" and "got" each other straight away, which is a nice feeling to get when you've only just met :) You might have seen a teaser image from the shoot on Twitter or Facebook... this is the full image that I wasn't allowed to post on the social networking sites ;)

One of the many great things about working with Stephen was that he was happy to let me style myself, which on this day resulted in me wearing my Burberry mack a LOT. There is just something special about being naked inside a Burberry mack! You should definitely try it if you haven't already! Failing that, there will be more photos of me having fun being naked in my mack coming soon, which you'll be notified of right away, since I'm sure you've subscribed to my blog by now!!

I hope you had a great Easter weekend with lots of chocolate, hot cross buns and perhaps a bunny girl or two! Our friend Dan Hubbert whisked me, my boyfriend, Zehra, Madame Bink and Bink's little dachshund, Major, away to a secluded Gothic lodge in Devon for the long weekend. It was a lovely idea for catching up as he recently moved from London to Stockholm, and we've missed being able to hang out whenever we feel like it! Sometimes it seems like everyone I know lives or is moving abroad!

Anyway, after three nights of fun in the countryside with friends and feeling very refreshed, I spent a couple of days shooting up north and in the southeast, including a full day shooting latex and bondage videos and stills, mmmmm, a whole day in latex and bondage! Hopefully I will be allowed to share some of the photos in the De Bauchee Lounge over on anitadebauch.com, once it's up and running! In the meantime, you can still buy my 8x10s, limited edition postcards and signed coffee table books in my Shop, all of which feature my full colour latex photos! There is nothing like having real, physical memorabilia in your hands to keep forever! Or that's what I think, anyway.

I'm back in London for lots of shows and photo shoots during Alt Fashion Week this week, which is free entry, so I'll see you there tomorrow (I'm walking for One Eyed Designs)!

Love, Anita xo

Girls, Giggles and Garters!

I've had such fun with my girlfriends the last couple of days! We really value our girly time with each other as we're so rarely in the same town at the same time due to us each modelling solo all over the world!

As I mentioned in my last blog, beautiful Binky came over for a sleepover on Monday night, which was as fun as it sounds! We made wholemeal pancakes for breakfast, which as you can imagine, resulted in homemade pancake batter flying all over my baby pink kitchen! It was so funny!

Last night we went to the Big Red, our favourite rock 'n' roll bar, with our gorgeous friends Emma Tiger and Helene Atsuko who also happened to be visiting London! It isn't the sort of place where you do much dancing, more sitting in booths, sharing pitchers and gossiping! There ended up being a huge crowd of us taking up several tables. Emma has such a dirty, hilarious sense of humour, we were all in stitches for most of the night! And I even did a little dancing in my new Playful Promises LBD and seamed stockings here and there ;)

L-R: Helene, Bink, Emma and me last night!

L-R: me, Helene and Emma at the Big Red

Today I'm back to work! I have a dental check-up and then the rest of the day will be spent sorting through an enormous pile of seamed nylon stockings in my bedroom for pairs to be sold on anitadebauch.com! It would be so much easier if I had someone to help me sift through it all ;)

In case you were wondering, I don't do what every other internet model does- buy cheap lingerie purely to wear and sell- all my pairs of stockings are precious items to me that I have worn MANY times, some so precious that I find it difficult to part with them! As long as I know they are going to an appreciative new home, I'm happy, though ;) My beau thinks I'm crazy because whenever I receive an order for a pair of stockings via my shop, I always wear the pair I've specially chosen for that De Bauchee for the whole day before I personally post them, from when I dress myself in the morning to when I undress at night. I think it matters! You want a pair of stockings that have been FRESHLY worn, am I right? Thought so! You can even request specific colours and styles that you like via the Shop, say, vintage black fully fashioned seamed nylons- that is, if you don't want me to surprise you ;)

Ciao for now! Have fun in my Shop and I'll speak to you soon xx

Behind the scenes video from a boudoir/ vintage lingerie photo shoot feat. the Yerburys!

I got sent this great behind the scenes video from the SWPP Convention in January that I'd like to share! It shows me modelling for the Yerburys' Boudoir Academy in a 5* Mayfair hotel. It's perfect for those who like to see the photos being taken as well as the photos themselves! You'll see me appear in my corset, stockings and suspenders around the 1:55 mark, after the fully dressed models have left ;)

The Yerburys are a famous portraiture husband and wife team, in case you didn't know! Trevor Yerbury's father and grandfather were both society photographers too, and Faye Yerbury is the only hairstylist I know who can do truly authentic fingerwaved hair, a method learned from her mother, who in turn learned to do it firsthand in the 1920s! On this particular day though, Faye had me wear a bobbed black wig, Clara Bow style!

Wearing wigs is fun. It always brings out new sides of my personality!

I'm growing my own hair out at the moment. I like the idea of having long, luxuriously waved red hair flowing down my back! I don't think I will even get it trimmed until just before I go on tour in Ireland in the summer! I hope it will be down to my collarbones by then (it's just below my chin right now)! We'll see!

I was also filmed as an extra in Made in Chelsea yesterday! I think the rest of the cast was a little confused by my 1940s get-up- with the exception of one in particular, who made it very clear he rather liked it, although I'm too much of a lady to say who, of course! I'm sure I was the only girl there wearing stockings and suspenders instead of tights! I'm not allowed to breathe a word more about the shoot until the episode comes out on TV, on pain of death, I think!!

Anyway, I must go now- my gorgeous friend Madame Bink is coming to my abode for a sleepover :D

Rebecca

Congratulations to Dublin's Lorraine Gilligan, whose IPF Fellowship Panel features not only me but some of my best modelling friends, like Madame Bink, Iveta and Ivory Flame :)

"My" photo in the panel was inspired by Rebecca :)

Corset: Heavenly Corsets | Hair and wardrobe styling: Lorraine Gilligan | Makeup: me

This beautiful Irish manor location was absolutely stunning. I actually welled up a little when I saw how lovingly, painstakingly it had been restored, with every detail carried out according to how it would have been done when it was originally built, and every piece of furniture, painting and even hairbrush period and antique. It was so strange to think that at one time it was completely abandoned, without a roof and with cows and sheep wandering around inside!

Now it is restored to its former glory and I wanted to move in! ;)

Zivity preview!

Some nude portraits I shot with my friend Adam :)

I think I like the last one best; it's an outtake where I started laughing and Adam managed to capture my weird two-stage laugh (Stage 1: looking down, getting the giggles; Stage 2, meeting the eye of whoever I'm sharing the joke with and laughing out loud).

You can see 21 more photos from this set here on Zivity. Give me your email address if you can't be arsed to pay and I'll send you a free 30 day trial ;)

Anyone concerned that I might catch cold will be pleased to know that I had a great time hitting the sales in Oxford Street with Hannah Ashlea yesterday- in fact, I bought so many new clothes that I struggled to carry them all home ;) I also had a big clear-out of my apartment to make room for the new stuff, so I'll probably be posting a blog sale soon, too :)

Now I just need to take the stuff that's too heavy to post to the charity shop and then get ready for a week modelling fashion and boudoir for some of the world's most successful photographers at the SWPP Convention, starting Tuesday! w00t! :D

Suspend your disbelief!

anitadebauch.com's About page has been updated with a sexy new lingerie photo by Adam Robertson, featuring a leather thong by Lux Tenebrae and the black suspender belt I bought when I was 14!

It was the first sexy lingerie I ever bought with the £2 per hour I earned from shampooing hair and making coffee at a local salon on Saturdays, and quickly became my most prized possession. No-one ever saw me wearing it at that age of course, but it still made me feel like a sophisticated grown-up lady to wear it with black lace stockings and camisole under my regular teenager clothes :)

A decade later, I finally have to admit that it does rather need replacing, probably with a six-strap suspender belt as four doesn't seem to be man enough for the job of keeping my seams perfectly straight. But I will always keep this one in my memories box so I can look at it when I'm 114 and say, "I remember wearing this when..."

Interview with Emulate magazine

My year begins with an interview about my life as a model with Emulate magazine, which you can read for free here (Enlarge --> pp. 73 - 75) ;)

Here's a more editorial style photo from my Lux Tenebrae shoot with Adam Robertson.

<3 British Tan leather!!!

I had the most peaceful and relaxed NYE on record last night; a sea bass dinner at home, followed by lots of champagne and strawberries with Liam and Ross, and the Thames fireworks on TV, as we didn't really fancy getting rained on by seeing it in the flesh! I liked the soundtrack to the fireworks; I wonder if there is somewhere online where I can listen to it.

Shooting tomorrow and Tuesday, then a week off to catch up with my pretty friends Binky and Hannah over shopping and skinny mochas :D I wonder what bargains we will find in the sales!

My New Year's Resolutions

What are your new year's resolutions or goals?

Mine are:

  1. I will visit a country I have never been to before. I'm guessing it will be China and/ or Indonesia, but I'm open to suggestion!
  2. I will go to a gypsy jazz club
  3. I will ensure that my book on freelance modelling, The Ugly Girl's Guide to Becoming a Model, is published the way I want it to be published ;)
  4. I will get better at doing my hair
  5. I will visit Tokyo again and learn to say a few more things in Japanese
  6. I will continue to prioritise healthy eating and sleeping
  7. I will gain a basic understanding of economics. All this talk of "double dip recession" and "recession/ depression" etc is making me feel incredibly stupid as I've been hearing it on the news for years now and still don't know what any of it really means or whose fault it really is
  8. I will get back into the swing of my weekly pilates/ aerobics/ yoga routine, after two months' travelling
  9. I will try and cultivate my brain in the form of classic novels, psychology textbooks, art gallery and museum exhibitions, music and poetry recitals, attending lectures, visiting sites of historical interest etc etc once a week
  10. I will read and actually understand the Wikipedia page on photography. Considering how much time I spend in front of a camera, it is scandalous how little I know about the process behind it!
As we look forward to 2012 and turn our backs on 2011, I leave you with pictures of my butt from a shoot for the Lux Tenebrae catalogue that I did with Adam Robertson :)

Happy New Year, everyone! I'm off to celebrate with Liam. We have nearly two months' worth of catching up to do over a champagne dinner and fireworks over the Thames :D

Sex and the City (of Hong Kong)

Mmmmmmmmmmm, suuuuch a relaxing, self-indulgent day yesterday ^^

Photography and wardrobe styling: Adam Robertson | Hair and makeup: me
27.11.11 EDIT: The rest of this photo set is now available to view on Zivity! If you don't already have a Zivity account, let me know and I'll send you a free 30 day trial so you can take a look ;)

Woke up with one of the worst cases of "Model's Back" ever (when your entire back is sore and knotted from endlessly posing and transporting suitcases) so cancelled my touristing plans and went to the Tai Pan spa instead, which is just around the corner from my hotel. It was so lovely that I'll definitely be going back and recommending it to my friends- it's cheap, chic and the foot soak, Chinese full body massage, head massage and hand massage were absolute lifesavers!

Entrance to Tai Pan spa

Gotta love spas with shrines ^^

Having had my leg and back muscles unknotted, especially my right shoulder, which was completely mullered from dragging around my most recent enormous leopard print handbag, I decided to go and knot them all up again by walking to the Ladies' Market and spending the afternoon/ evening SHOPPING ;)

At the implied advice of my shoulder (ahem) I bought a new handbag, which is better than the old one not least because it has lots of internal compartments. I spent a very pleasant 15 minutes or so back at the hotel clearing everything out of my old bag and arranging where each item is going to live in my new bag. I like doing things like that >.<

And of course, I also had to buy the matching purse and makeup bag for my little "on the go basics" makeup (as opposed to my full makeup collection, which requires its own telescopic carry case and separate roll bag for brushes etc)!

I also bought a Christmas gift for my "niece" (Liam's little cousin) who is obsessed with Hello Kitty at the moment. I picked out the only non-pink Hello Kitty item I could find ;) And it also promotes healthy eating. Hurrah!

My camera freaked out and refused to switch on on the way back to the hotel, then magically started working again once I was back in my room. It had better not stop working or I'll have to stop posting these huge, long, pointless travel blogs ;p

Now I'm off to catch me a ferry! :D

Latex and killer heels in Newcastle!

Can't believe I'm shooting in Asia for six weeks starting Saturday- it seems to have crept up SO fast! I still need to exchange some money so I can swerve card transaction charges, drop off my dry cleaning, clean my makeup brushes and um, pack >.<

I have some "preview" pictures from my shoot in Newcastle with George Swift the other day :) We worked together once about three years ago and I was very happy with the results at the time, so it was a nice surprise to be invited to shoot with him again all this time later :) We were going to start off shooting location art nudes and then move into the studio for some latexy fashion nude type stuff, but as it was minus two George kindly skipped the outdoor nudes bit and we were in a nice warm studio happily shooting away and drinking tea until we finally conked out at about 9 pm! Here are just some of the results :)

High waisted leggings and braces by Lady Lucie

Body suit by Naucler Design | Styling: me!

Like how raw and plain this feels- "this is me, sitting on a stool" :)

Q: Can I stand on one leg in 8" heels and lick my own knee?
A: Yes. It's good to know these things

And a slightly silly shot of me testing my strangely bendy spine to finish. The pole was actually a plastic drainpipe so I couldn't put any weight on it whatsoever- just had to pretend like I was hanging off it ;)

There will be plenty more to come from this shoot I think :D

Binky stayed over last night and the three of us (her, Liam, me) went to Toff's for fish and chips at lunchtime so I could get some good British food in me before I head off to the Far East! Not only is it the best fish and chips EVER but the restaurant is also decorated with loads of signed Iron Maiden memorabilia and photos of the band hanging out in the restaurant, which is random and fun.

Now I'm off to relax in a hot tub and give myself a pedicure before having an all-out beauty day tomorrow in preparation for my travels! Pilates, hair dyeing, facial (must see if I can convince my beauty therapist to throw in a little shoulder massage again), various waxings and a manicure. I'm going to feel like a new woman!

Lux Tenebrae Leather

Remember how I said I was looking forward to a well-dressed Halloween? Well, here are the first photos from my shoot with luxury leather couturier Lux Tenebrae and one of my favourite photographers and friends, Adam Robertson. This butter-soft bespoke skirt not only fitted like a glove, it was actually made from glove leather, apparently because that was a better choice when making a skirt in my size. All I can say is that it feels absolutely delicious to wear and I am a lucky girl to be given such a beautiful piece of couture to take home with me. I never thought I'd say it, but it's actually going to replace my beloved French Connection black leather pencil skirt, which will now probably end up on eBay!

Photographer: Adam Robertson | Wardrobe stylist: Lux Tenebrae | Hair and makeup: me!

We also shot some gorgeous leather harnesses, which were just so photogenic, especially the British Tan coloured ones as they nearly matched my hair colour ^^ It was also my first go at wearing pony boots (the Lady Gaga-esque ones with no heels)! REALLY looking forward to seeing those shots as we not only did some neat, clear catalogue ones like the two shots I just posted, but also some cooler, moodier editorial work which looked fab on the back of the camera ^^

Just got back from two days shooting oop north so will hopefully have some new photos from there as well, shortly, including lots of nice latexy fashion nudes with meh new red hair! Right now I need to get some sleep though as I've been working so hard for the last however long that I feel like the little hamster that runs on the wheel in my brain to keep the cogs turning has wandered off somewhere!

Photoblog: Halloween party silliness

As you know, I spent Monday (Halloween itself) modelling for Lux Tenebrae with Adam Robertson in Wiltshire, so actually celebrated Halloween on the Saturday (29th). I ended up having a last-minute shoot in London, from which I already have some photos! You'll have already seen the first one on my Facebook page; here's another :)

Photographer: CJ Chmiel | Hair and makeup: me

I just topped up my shoot makeup on the way home (not very well) to look more Halloween-ish. I did better with Liam's, Bink's and our friend Iain's makeup as I could start from scratch :)

Iain and Binky

Hannah and Ras arrived as Shaun of the Dead zombies, complete with bloodstained cricket bat. This was excellent, although presented accidental clawing-through-holes-in-jeans problems when Lilith and Dexter sat on their laps.

 Ras and Hannah

Dexter vs candles

Liam made a Halloween themed playlist- which I LOVED and hope he didn't delete!- I served a cauldron of pumpkin soup for dinner (the cooking of which somehow managed to include setting fire to Dexter's tail, although he didn't seem to notice), Iain mixed absinthe cocktails and we let Plan 9 From Outer Space go round and round on silent in the background about 900 times.

L-R: Liam, Dan and Ras

 Bink vs absinthe

I think Adam and Dan came as the ultimate middle class horror, hoodie trick or treaters, although I could be wrong.

Around 6 am we decided it was time to do an impromptu Team Binkertson photo shoot. It made sense at the time

Me. I was supposed to be a zombie ballerina, in case you can't tell. It's not that obvious.
(Dress from Buffies)

Ras and Hannah, the urban zombies!

6 am family portait (L-R: Liam, Lilith, Dexter, me). Yes, the cats are in their pyjamas, the most sensible creatures in the house at that point.

Today I will mostly be catching up with my emails, eating healthy food to compensate for the weekend's sweetie overload, and getting an early night ;)
