Gothesque magazine editorial

I have an arty four-page editorial in this month's issue of Gothesque magazine, styled and shot by Phine Ka in my hotel room :) It's funny how some of my favourite images have been shot in my hotel rooms, my apartment, other people's living rooms and places like that, rather than always being on expensive rented sets or locations!

Click the images to see larger versions!

I just got home from 24 hours of helping my nan settle into her new place, followed by a green smoothie, a two-hour workout, and lots of housework! I'm not the greatest chef in the world, but I'm a real homebody when it comes to cleaning. I like everything to look, feel and smell wonderful, both for me and my man :) The cats are happy because they got to sunbathe in the garden for a couple of hours while I enjoyed lunch al fresco (with my Bareskin Beauty sun cream) and hung out the washing.

The day before yesterday happened to be Marilyn Monroe's 89th birthday and my 9th modelling anniversary, not that I had time to celebrate!

Next up, Wokingham on Saturday! If you are a photographer interested in a studio shoot with me at a discounted rate, I currently have the morning available at Fine & DanDee Studio on Saturday 6 June for £50ph all-inclusive. They have a dungeon room and a boudoir room too! Email contact@anitadebauch.com if you're interested :)

Oh, and did I mention? I'm on Instagram- follow me if you're on there :D

Lady Allura's Latex ballgown editorial in Twisted Edge magazine

Woohoo! I was on the cover of Twisted Edge magazine last month, and this month I have another great Lady Allura's Latex inside!

I had an impromptu day in Glastonbury today- the fact that I'm even able to do that is one of the reasons I'm so grateful to be living where I am right now. It probably won't last forever, so I'm seizing every day I can in this beautiful area and making the most of it! I really fell in love with Somerset when I came here on holiday from London last spring, and am looking forward to spending more time here this spring, especially with offering photographers a series of beautiful outdoor locations to shoot at during my Somerset Photographic Tours, starting in April (package prices start at just £290- please email contact@anitadebauch.com for details).

I discovered the Goddess Temple today, which was a nice girly chill-out place, but apparently the incense they were burning smells weird to cats as Dexter and Lilith have been going MENTAL since I got home over my cardigan, to the point where I had to take it off and leave it on the floor for them! It's taken them about three hours to calm down.

Fittingly, the Twisted Edge/ Lady Allura's Latex editorial has a vaguely hippie-goddessy sort of vibe, I think! I have it in my head that blue is supposed to represent friendship, which is something I would like to offer to (nearly) all my blog subscribers, of course. I just love translucent latex!

Photographer and location scout: Magpie Tommy ~ HMUA: me

Tom should also be given credit for giving me a fireman's lift over the stinging nettles blocking the entrance!

I have a great shoot lined up in Yeovil tomorrow and am really feeling my creative juices and energy bubbling up! I'm surprisingly excited for Friday and am planning a fabulous day of travel, appreciating nature and reconnecting and rebalancing, before this month's big tour starts and I'm shooting every single day with so many different photographers and other creatives, all teaming up to make art and have fun together! March is a great month :) All I need is a raw chocolate egg connection.

I probably won't have time to blog again between now and April, so I'll say it now: remember to get outside Friday morning and see the eclipse! That darkness will be reflected more than usual on Friday night too, as it's a new moon, so perfect for some star-gazing if it's not too cloudy.

You can stay in touch with my weird/ funny/ naked adventures on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter (I've forgotten my Tumblr password). Remember that Twitter is the only I can post nudes on, and to click the 'Liked' button on Facebook and select 'Get notifications' from the drop-down menu, so you get an unobtrusive little notification when I post a new picture.

Peace out!

#WardrobeWednesday with Damian McGillicuddy, Olympus & Bareskin Beauty!

Hi everyone!

I'm writing this on my sofa, in a peach robe, with Lilith purring in it, and drinking almond cappuccino with cinnamon sprinkles from a big china mug. Apparently people like to know these things.

Anyway!

Check out this new photo shot in Finland last month with Damian McGillicuddy using Olympus! I borrowed my boyfriend's tie for this shoot.

I'm quite impressed by just how much you can see my nipple through that blouse. I don't know if it actually looked like that at the time or was enhanced in Photoshop. I did the hair and makeup, skincare is by Bareskin Beauty :) The hair was super easy, I just used coconut oil to slick it down.

Bought some new makeup online today, in fact; I'm gradually converting from MAC to organic pure mineral products. Less talc = less spots. I recently got a bunch of new BsB natural products and my skin looked better immediately after using the Clay Mask and Antioxidant Toner, which inspired me to think, "what else can I do? Improve my makeup case!"

Yesterday's lips =
BsB lip balm + Rimmel Dynamite pencil + MAC Girl About Town applied with MAC lip brush

Here's a little video of me visiting the BsB kitchen in London last weekend, in case you didn't already see it on Vine:

Full day shoot yesterday, spa mineral bath with Thornton's Champagne truffles courtesy of boyfy last night, and full day's domestic goddess activities today. I've already done last night's washing up, three loads of laundry, scratch-made two kinds of soup (Kim Snyder's detox vegan Thai soup, and my own vegan Italian tomato & Chanteray carrot), baked preservative-free vegan wholemeal with coconut oil and BsB Himalayan pink salt, and assembled a huge pile of clothes for mending. I feel super-efficient. Now to see if I can remember how to thread up my digital sewing machine!

 Oh and guess what?

I've officially been modelling for EIGHT YEARS this month.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Cheers everyone!

PS, does anyone know where I can buy a pair of these in the UK??? They are actually my perfect pair of sunglasses. I think I could handle paying 250 bucks for them if I had prescription lenses put in and wore them forever.

Hangin' in Helsinki with the Big Dog (oh, and @OlympusUK) #WardrobeWednesday @McGillicuddy1

So last month I got a last-minute call from Damian McGillicuddy inviting me to fly out to Helsinki with him to help promote Olympus cameras at an event by Indie Days!

It was a "Bloggers' Inspiration Day"- blogging is HUGE over there- and Damian was demonstrating with me how to take simple portraits, as of course a lot of these fashion bloggers take their own photos! Instead of the usual crowd of middle-aged male photographers, this camera demo audience was 99% beautiful young Scandinavian women + 1% gay hipsters. I have never seen a better-looking group of photographers, seriously!! They all should have been in front of the camera!

One of Damian's photos from the class:

Afterwards we went for dinner and I had a traditional Finnish soup called lohikeitto, which is like leek and potato, garnished with fresh dill, mmmmmmm! It said vegetarian and lactose-free on the menu, but when it arrived it was full of butter, cream and poached salmon and promptly sent me into a food-coma!

The next day, Damian and I shot some of my Lady Allura's Latex and Fabulously Fetish boots at the hotel with lovely Lesley assisting :) I'll post more of the results when I have them, they are awesome, so please subscribe to my blog (top right) and I'll mail them to you! in the meantime, I have an email mountain to tackle and international tours to organise ;)

Vintage #WardrobeWednesday... and my holiday snaps. Sorry.

Are we glad the weather's warming up??? I sure am. Here's a photo of me warming my butt by the fire last winter, by Scarecrow Images! We included a couple of other very famous models in the shot, too ;)

I did the hair, makeup and wardrobe styling :)

I'll be bringing my vintage wardrobe to my Eye For an Image Studio Day in Banbury next month, if anyone would like to shoot some nice black and whites there (they had a lovely vintage dressing table set last time I visited) :) Email contact@anitadebauch.com.

Just got back from a week's holiday in Cheddar, where I spent most of my time barefoot and makeup-free, reading my psychonautics books (massively recommend Alterations of Consciousness to any psychology and/ or parapsychology/ shaman types out there! I have a psychology degree but this book totally changed the way I think about awareness and the brain), enjoying magical Glastonbury and fresh local food during the day and lying in the grass stargazing at night

C15th church in Glastonbury on Good Friday.
Sorry if you've already seen all these on Facebook/ Twitter/ Tumblr/ Instagram!

Until I actually live in the countryside, I think I'm going to try and make a holiday out there every springtime from now on. It's the perfect time to visit, with all the wild flowers and blossom trees bursting to life, the sun coming out and baby animals EVERYWHERE! I loved walking into the village to buy my almond milk and other supplies and seeing baby rabbits springing away down the path, and lots of friendly farm animals!

I fed a mummy sheep :D

I also visited a wool farm and bonded with the lambs. They are like living teddy bears! So much more cuddly and immediately trusting than say, a pet dog would be. As soon as I put this little chap on my lap he draped himself over my shoulder for a cuddle, just like Dexter and Lilith do, and gave me lots of fuzzy face nuzzles and little kisses

Look at his little smile!!!! *cuteness overload*

If he wasn't going to grow into a full-grown sheep I'd have offered to buy him on the spot. I'll just have to make do with this imbecile.

Dexter, high off his arse on catnip in Glastonbury. You couldn't make this up.

Full day latex, lingerie and art nude shoot at a wicked studio with loads of cool sets in London tomorrow. Must go now to pack and do my nails :)

- Alec Davies, photographer

Shot in Norfolk after dark with Alec and the awesome Ness. I did the styling. First shoot of the year where I could see my breath in the air. Winter is coming!

Alexander McQueen and Fabulously Fetish #WardrobeWednesday

Hello from Dublin!

I had a great art nude shoot today with one of my regular clients here in Ireland. There is something so peaceful about being nude in beautiful outdoor spaces and feeling the grass between your toes and the breeze on your skin :) Then tomorrow it's on to Kilkenny for a two-day shoot for Lady Allura's Latex's new collection, with another of my very favourite photographers in the world, not just Ireland. It's so important to work with people who really love and care about the images they take.

Another photographer like this is my friend Phine Ka. Here are some new old photos we shot a while ago- shoes by Fabulously Fetish, necklace by Alexander McQueen, wig courtesy of Faye Yerbury!

Phine Ka and I are shooting the new Fabulously Fetish collection this month- really looking forward to it :) No girl would say no to prancing around in lots of beautiful examples of couture high heels in a studio all day, am I right?? I wouldn't, anyway :) I love how much intensive attention to detail Fabulously Fetish put into their shoes, both in terms of look and wearability. I pay obsessive attention to detail myself, I think it's a crucial part of art and style, so it's something I really appreciate in them and feel kinship with them over. They are the perfect footwear sponsor for me :)

Lady Allura by G Haskew, steampunk/ industrial style

I have some steampunk-esque fashion shots to share from an amazing location shoot I did for Lady Allura with Magpie Tommy. Lady Allura mostly does latex but this beautiful harness set that she kindly gifted to me is made of faux leather (I also shot it with Amy Colwell). It feels nice and tough to wear :)

Click the pics for larger versions- it's worth it for the detail in these shots :)

Melodramatic "ooh I'm lost and have a bit of a headache" model pose #759375

This weirdly looks like I've been dropped into the shot on the computer but I was really there, promise :p There was a lot of daylight hitting me from each side. You've probably seen the nudes I did here; I was further back in the tunnel for them, so my figure looks darker.

Super awesome news: I met with Perou again yesterday and we have booked our first shoot for next week, possibly/ probably with more to follow for an ongoing location project :D I won't say exactly what it is of course but just that it's EXACTLY the kind of thing I've been really wanting to do :D :D :D

Also, the special edition hardback copy of my book, The Ugly Girl's Guide to Becoming a Model, looks like it might be out earlier than predicted! :D I may technically be a writer soon, but words can't describe my happiness today.

Oh, and the sun is shining :)

Don Cristobal

I thought I would share a couple of pictures from a shoot I did in Singapore last month for Filipino couturier Don Cristobal, who's making a big name for himself in SE Asia at the moment. We shot several looks with SoloStep Studio; these are the two I've spotted so far :)

Each dress was full of drama and made me feel like a certain character. This one is very 70s and boho, especially with Elena's styling.

The next was my personal favourite, I think; I was reading Lola Montez: Her life and conquests while travelling around Asia, and really felt her in this Spanish-influenced dress with its sexy mesh panels and layers and layers of underskirts!

Hair and makep: Rezani Ramli

It sounds so cheesy because all models say it, but one of my favourite things about my job is shoots like this where I basically get paid to play dress-up like I was a little kid and play with all these different characters, which are really just aspects of my own psyche that normally wouldn't get airtime.

Just finished my Introduction to International Criminal Law online course today! A meaningless 'Statement of Accomplishment with Distinction' certificate will soon be mine. Booyah.

In more annoying news, Facebook have banned me from advertising my page on their site because they consider it to be "advertising adult products or services, including toys, videos, or sexual enhancement products." Well, what if it were? The page is set to 18+ anyway! Infuriating. So please, if you haven't already, come and join me on my Facebook porno page and become instantly sexually enhanced. That's a guarantee.

Anita xx

Vivienne Westwood by Andrew Dewael for #WardrobeWednesday, with thanks to Marlene!

So here's one of my most favourite shoots that I've done to date!

I was approached by Andrew Dewael for a fashion shoot inspired by the 1930s movie style of Marlene Dietrich, which was to be shot entirely on black and white film using vintage and Vivienne Westwood wardrobe at London's historic Hazlitt's Hotel. It's a beautiful old style hotel where all kinds of people have stayed, from famous C18th courtesan Teresa Cornelys, to JK Rowling!

The process of the shoot was super exciting and old school. We used video lights, and Polaroids to test them, just like they did in the chic and glamorous days before digital photography! I even kept the Polaroids after the shoot as a souvenir. I'm not allowed to share them online, they are a special momento just for me :)

Here are the final photos...

I notice that one of the shots is the current homepage image on Andrew's website :) I hope we get to shoot together again sometime.

 Our shoot location!

After the shoot, I was very kindly given the Baron Willoughby Suite (above) for the night as a "tip", so of course, I got straight on the phone to Roswell Ivory so we could kick back in it with some wine and catch up in our own private lounge, before having dinner and then chatting ourselves to sleep in the beautiful C18th carved oak bed :)

The next morning, we had an organic breakfast in our lounge and then retired to the hotel's library with coffee :) My girlfriends and I often don't get to see each other too much as we're always shooting in various parts of the world and sometimes have to make the effort to make time, but it's always worth it ^_^ Yaaaaay.
