Ectomorph Latex, Jane Doe Latex and Lady Lucie Latex, oh my!

This morning I got a call for a latex fashion shoot for one of the oldest and most prestigious labels in the country, Ectomorph, who first opened their doors in 1985- before I was even born! Considering how quickly designers come and go these days, it is a real honour and a privilege to shoot for such a trusted, well-established name in the world of latex couture! I last shot for their catalogue in May last year:

You can still actually see that very shot showcased on the Ectomorph homepage, alongside another of their models and one of my friends, cult movie scream queen Eileen Daly, of Razor Blade Smile fame! Funnily enough, she has also modelled for another of my latex clients, Peccatus Couture. It certainly is a small world!

The shoot tomorrow should really be something special- I've seen snapshots of the outfits, and the photographer is second to none, so I KNOW it will be good and that you'll like the pictures! I like mixing latex with other fabrics, both in photos and real life. I know it is considered a bit of a "fetish no-no", but really, if you like latex, and you also like leather, vinyl, nylon, silk, satin or mesh, why wouldn't you mix them together? It's like wearing incredibly sexy, daring lingerie, and then putting a suit on over the top so that you can still swan to the shops or to the office or to meet your friends for coffee or cocktails, without having a line of guys following you around all over town! I think it's what they call having the best of both worlds!

Make me happy and be mine, be my Vintage Valentine!

I took these at 7 am in a vintage 1950s sweetshop just around the corner from my house that I managed to source for my client :) They have a tearoom next door that does lush coffee and homemade cakes :)

We only had 2 hours to shoot three latex outfits before the shop opened to the public, so to save time I wore the first outfit under my trench coat on the way there, like a proper old perv, and showed up in full makeup with rollers in my hair and a scarf wrapped over the top. Shexy! But it meant that we could pretty much get stuck in straight away :)

 Pretty much all the stuff you see on the shelves is for sale at very reasonable prices, if you happen to want to buy a vintage tea set in North London. I sure do ^^

 I like the way the stripes on the skirt perfectly map out the 3D shape of my bum in this one :p

I also liked this outtake type shot- I think it may have been one of those times where I thought the photographer was just taking a lighting test so was just chatting and chilling instead of posing. It's probably too casual to use in my portfolio but I like it as a "this is what I looked like when I was 24 and had hair long enough to curl" picture for my memories box :)

Vintage modelling marathon :)

I got up at 5.30 am today to shoot in a vintage sweetshop before it opened. Talk about living a childhood dream! I'm saving the real "sweetshop" looking photos until next month, but for now, here's a little preview of a set we did in the 1950s tea room next door :)

I have another vintage themed shoot tomorrow morning, this time art deco and with my favourite male model- Liam! <3 Then straight after that I'll be zooming over to Shoreditch on the tube to work for Lulu and Lush, which will involve the wearing of much gorgeous vintage-inspired lingerie ^^ Yay retro fashion! *feels particularly girly* :p

Bridal and couple's portraiture!

Wrapping anniversary presents while waiting for someone to get back to me about a shoot location. It's our seventh anniversary on 25th January and as Liam isn't here atm I can wrap stuff in the living room without him seeing what he's getting, hee hee ^^

  Now back to wrapping and watching my inbox for a reply regarding using a local cafe/ shop as a shoot location. I emailed them quite late last night so they might not have read it yet. I don't know whether it's more polite to wait for a reply or more proactive to just go down there right now, even though if they haven't read the email I will be just some random crazy stranger coming in off the street. Hmmm!

The end of the year; a time to review oneself and one's work. In digging through my full-to-bursting hard drive I found a concerning number of photos of me messing about during lighting tests, so in a break from the traditional posting-meticulously-posed-and-Photoshopped professional images, I present to you some professional lighting tests and behind the scenes snaps.

Peccatus Latex Couture in Ireland!

Some photos from my most recent latex shoot in Ireland with Sean McCormack, who writes the Lightroom Blog and just opened the stunning Sky Water Land landscape photography exhibition in Galway. Is there anything this man can't do?! :D

Hair and makeup by moi. Lots of fun attempting to cover the signs that I was coming down with a cold :p Sean bought us kangaroo burgers for lunch though, which is always a good way to make me feel better!

The location was cool. I really want to go back and do a full-on cheesy steampunk shoot in front of that big bolted boiler thing with the full selection of brown/ bronze/ grey/ orange-ish leather/ canvas/ rubber wardrobe and antique gold Victorian clockwork themed accessories + mad professor hair and makeup :D

In the shower with Emma

Another photo from my shoot with Emma Delves-Broughton, this time a cute nude, because you can't wear latex all the time ;)

This was actually taken right at the end of the shoot after I'd changed out of the Peccatus Latex Couture I was modelling. It feels quite Bettie Page-ish to me! :)

I also really like this next one because it feels less "posed" and more like I might actually look while taking a shower and holding a conversation! I don't often get asked to do the "happy smiley natural girl" thing but it's quite nice to have photos like that sometimes :) Plus, it wouldn't be an Emma Delves-Broughton/ Anita De Bauch shoot without at least one gratuitous photo of my bum :p

The location was a gorgeous old house in the historic city of Bath, kindly offered to us by the lovely couple who live there.

Looking forward to shooting for Peccatus again en France in December with Maxime Avet :) Their latex looks so delicate and elegant, I love it.
